Why are the pyramid race still theorized?
Might just be some lore i missed, but doesn't the existence of the disciples confirm that the pyramids aren't piloted by any one race? then again, tormentors.

because people don’t realize that light and dark don’t manifest into living beings. they’re worshipped by them. the closest we have ever gotten to a “darkness race” is the taken. people need to let that veil bullshit go. it’s tiring.

Each Pyramid seems to hold one individual disciple of the witness. Nezarec on the moon, Rhulk in Savathun's Throne world, Calus getting his own Pyramid too, the unnamed one from the Europa pyramid. It plays perfectly with how everything light and dark mirror one another. The Traveler lifts entire species to the light The Witness gathers individuals for the dark Going by Rhulk and by Calus, the Witness' disciples also all seem to be individuals who have been trouble or went through some hardships before they were witnessed.

It seems there is no One Race of Darkness, kinda harmony that there isn't just 1 Pyramid. From the Description of the Tormentors, it appears they Resemble Ruhlk, in a way, could be Clones of him, or that's the Shape they Take after the Transformation. Kinda like Taken. The Tormentors could be Enslaved Beings, Broken and put back together as...well that. Well know more as we get Closer.
