This is an interesting topic I’ve never thought of. I believe our civilization could’ve been more peaceful. The Eliksni could’ve taught us to seek compassion in other species less fortunate than ours and help us build better technology for both species. We could’ve been more receptive to Caital’s treaty and use the Cabal’s military might to expand the Last City. We could’ve tried to help the Hive relieve them of their worms and effectively triple the amount of worthy lightbarers in our ranks, and use their knowledge of the darkness to create more defenses against it. We could’ve had an alliance big enough to colonize several solar systems. The Witness wouldn’t have stood a chance. That’s just a guess though.

  • This was amusing. I love how people go with the ‘humanity is bad’ angle so often in this game. More peaceful? We tolerated the Fallen looting our planet and attacking our people up to a certain point then Saint went on the offensive. Only way we could of been more peaceful would of been to die and let them take over. Weird how the story let the Fallen get a pass for their savagery by their saying, ‘it wasn’t our house, we just recently made by defecting from the bad houses’ but humanity gets wholly blamed for our worst examples by them. Caital didn’t offer a peace treaty, she offered us a chance to subject ourselves to her control. To become subjects under her rule. The Hive? That’s just a joke.
