Fair points.
I would add that all of those issues were in place before the new loose sbmm were in place for control.
A lot of posters on here seem to think these issues are because of the loose sbmm for control. They are not in the game because of loose sbmm, just always have been it the game.
It’s an online multiplayer game. Do we the players have all of the same internet connections, speeds, and equipment? (No we don’t) One reason why lag might be experienced.
How old is the technology running the PvP side of the game?
Shooting though walls, or not dealing damage to players, and other such issues. Again, we’re around way before loose sbmm. Maybe Bungie should find actual ways of stopping these things.
For myself, control has been a lot of fun, with closer matches. Also I felt like I was making a difference and helping my team. I haven’t experienced much lag. Also wait times to get into matches haven’t been that long.
Lastly, it’s been a week with loose sbmm for control. They said it would take time and they would make adjustments over the next couple of season. I would suggest we all give them time to see how it works and develops.

It is so miserable. I love sitting in queue for 5-10 minutes just to play unplayable laggy players across the world. I just wish we could get pure CBMM. What people hated was Bungie manipulating matchmaking with their “lobby balancing”. Before that it was pure CBMM and I saw far less complaints. I never had to sit in queue for more than 60 to 90 seconds max. Yeah Destiny has always had lag, but not to the severity it’s been since SBMM was reintroduced (I recall the last time SBMM was in the game and it’s similar lag)

I can respect your viewpoint and feedback. I haven’t experienced long match making times, and also not much lag. I haven’t played a bunch this season, but I think I only saw two different players in the same match being laggy. I suppose my experiences change how I see things, so I then don’t feel it’s much of a problem. It would be nice if they could find away to make matches both fair for the majority of players, while also being fast connections. I don’t know what that system would be. However, it does seem like Bungie will always try to reinvent the wheel with this game, vs taking what already works. Not just in PvP, just anything they update or try adding into the game.

So I decided to look your stats up ONLY BECAUSE YOU SAID YOUR EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN FINE. The reason you are enjoying it mostly is because you are at the bottom of the skill bracket. You have a 0.37 overall out of 359 hours. I’m a 1.9 overall with 4000+ and that puts me in the top 5% which is where the most miserable experience is.
-
Stats a little low, for the season, but yes, it’s probably easier for me since there are probably more players around my range then yours. It would be nice to find something that worked for higher skilled players too.

We need pure CBMM and not Bungie manipulating the lobbies with “Lobby Balancing”. When we had pure CBMM there were far less complaints. I’d be okay with pure CBMM and outlier protection. If you are under a 1.0 or a new player you are placed in your own bracket. Everyone above a 1.0 is put in the main bracket. For new players they would have to play like 25 hours of PvP and if they were over a 1.0 they go to the main bracket, if they aren’t, they stay

Some kind of bracket system seems like it would work well. Like you suggest based on hours played and stats staying up. A different play list for those who want to play casual vs someone who wants to play a lot. Although I am sure some people would play less, let their stats go down, then end up in the lower skilled play list, just to have an easier time. But if we did what you suggest, are there enough top …5-10% players who both have the same stats and hours to find matches… and more so balanced matches for those players, along with not have long wait times and enjoy the game? Or would the people close to your stat and hour level just end up on stacked teams against the players just barely at a 1.0 and above 25 hours like you suggest? It does seem like Bungie like to manipulate everything

I can tell you there isn’t enough of us. There are a few thousand of us and hundreds of thousands of you all. It would be really difficult to purposely do bad to play people under a 1.0. I have almost 11,000 matches played and the more games you have played the harder it is to raise and lower your overall KD
