Maintenance Today?
I can't play Destiny 2 today because I keep getting "PARDON OUR DUST!" Destiny servers will begin maintenance momentarily. Ongoing games will end, then players will return to title screen.
But, when I go to Bungie support or their twitter I see nothing and every streamer and all my friends they are fine and still playing. I don't understand. It feels like it's just me.

1 ReplyI'm having the same problem for ps4 it keeps saying that maintenance is going to be happening soon but no one else is getting that in my group I restarted the game unplug my console for 5 minutes and even deleted and re-downloaded the game but not working

Edited by rogercl: 8/31/2022 3:34:35 PMIf you go into every character you have and watch the first scene and after it kicks you out for each character go back to the character you are working in and login and it should work. It is a bug and for some reason is some how connected to characters you have not started? It worked so hopefully it does for you to as I have seen for others. They have an update coming this week but until then and so you can play do that.

Same thing happening to me. played a couple of times over the weekend and now I get Pardon Our Dust and maintenance notice every time I select a character.

Same here. I’ve tried everything minus uninstalling and reinstalling. It sounds like a decent amount of people are having this issue. Guess I’ll go play Saints Row until this thing fixes itself.

My husband and I are having the same issues with the game on ps4/ps5. It will let us get to character select but then we get the "pardon our dust" maintenance message.

I am having this issue as well. I have: Restarted my PC Restarted my internet Verified game files Reinstalled the game Run the game as Admin None of these have worked. Not sure what else to try.

What is Bungie doing to fix this??? I can't play and I see many others can't either, but most people can!

4 RepliesI am having the same issue on PS5. Have been trying for 5.5 hours. Deleted game, redownloaded. Cleared cashe. Restarted system. Restarted network equipment. Powered system down for 15 minutes. Still nothing. I’m leaning towards an accidental ban because if it were a real ban, I would have gotten a message saying why apparently. This is making me angry. I’m not happy with bungie right now.

I play on Stadia and have been having the same problems since 2 or so hours ago. I don’t have any game files to reset or console to unplug….

Same issue, Pardon our Dust! pop up after I select a character then im booted back to loading screen. I'm on PC. Tried restarting steam, restarting PC, verifing game files, logging on a different PC, and restarting modem. Nothing works.

3 RepliesSame here, I notice the message has "BNOC" in it which stands for Bungie Network Operations Center. I think we've been accidentally banned from the game.

Logged off after Kings fall the other night, today I can't login on my main Steam account, however I tried switching to another steam account and the game works fine. Been unable to play all day today. Edit: I have found a fix for the Pardon Our Dust Error! I set my time zone forward about 16 hours and I was able to login without issue. Definitely give it a try if you still can't get in.

This morning, I followed the instructions to load each other character and now I'm in. I usually play on my titan and got the error after selecting the titan and was sent back to the title screen. Then I selected my hunter, got the cut scene, hit escape to skip and was sent back to the title screen. Then I selected my warlock, got the cut scene, hit escape to skip and was sent back to the title screen. Both times the other characters did not load, just the beginning of the cut scenes. Finally, I went back to my Titan and it worked. Weird.
