i was on a youtube video and saw that there’s this website called [REDACTED] that apparently gives you free silver from doing a couple things like downloading a couple apps or something like that and you get like 6k silver. i saw that and was a little suspicious of what was going on. and apparently this website is in partnership with bungie and destiny 2 but i don’t believe it is because it would’ve been promoted way more than just one video on a dead youtube channel. like this was this guys first upload in 14 years. what are some of your guys thoughts on this?

1 ReplyYes, it's a scam. For Silver purchase questions, go to this help article: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049497091-Destiny-Silver-Purchases-Guide

3 RepliesIf you fell for that decade old scam at this point you kinda deserve it

1 ReplyEdited by Jamestown01010: 8/31/2022 6:34:33 AMHopefully you didn’t give him your credit card number or destiny login. “dead channel” and “first upload in 14 years” are called red flags in Internet lingo.

1 ReplyLel stay away from Africa prince emails as well op🤣🤣🤣🤣. Those are fake too.

No, give it a shot 🙃
-
Just put it like this, “nothing in the world is free”.

Have you ever known Bungie to give away silver ? Remember the SRL book cheese, patched within 24 hours And those sites where you have to complete offers and fill out surveys are all scams -
1 ReplyGood way to get hacked

1 Reply“Saw it on YouTube” Must be legit…. 🤔

4 RepliesIf you think that’s legit, you shouldn’t be allowed on the internet.

Come on, free things? This is bungie we're talking about!!!
-
Nothing is free! So it’s a scam
-
If it’s free it’s normally a scam
-
Word of advice, if you are thinking to yourself "is this a scam" 9 times out of 10 it is a scam. Same goes for when you think "this is too good of a sale/deal to be true".

I got the same ad. Unfortunately YouTube does very little to prevent scams from being advertised on their website.

2 Replies100% a scam. Anything like that is a scam and honestly, it's way too obvious... 6k silver for app downloads? How do they apply it to your account? If Bungie hasn't said anything about it thriugh an official channel, then don't do it, at all. The same goes for anything else that is similar, like getting a DM from a high profile D2 gamer saying they're gonna send you a top of the line PC. Or getting those 'you have a relative in x country that died and left you an inheritance!' emails. ...and if you've already given info, change passwords for your accounts.

In life only the sun commes up for free, for the rest you pay in a shape or form. Downloading Apps is the way you pay with your info that they gather.
