I like it. Same as releasing new episodes on your favorite show. Experience the same show as everyone else on a weekly cadence, have time to digest it, chat with others about it and see what happens next. When an entire season just drops as once, you can binge it but walk on eggshells and hope that no one spoils it for you.

  • I view it differently. For me, having the campaign drip fed is like paying to see a movie in the theater & every 15mins of movie you have to endure a 30min commercial break of the same 3 commercials. I think releasing the campaign all at the release of the release allows those that wish to binge it & those that wish to take it in in pieces both to have it their way. I don't think Bungie should make content release policy based on worrying how many user might see a spoiler before they play the content. I think spoiler dodging is an essential skill for any geek. LOL.

  • Its nothing like episodes really. No randomness, everything happens in the same order with the same activities. Lore and dialogue is good as always but we need an end to these repetitive weeks. Imagine a show that had changed dialogue but everything you see is the same. Same scenes, same places, same order. I wouldn't watch it and I cant bring myself to play this season.

  • It's still spoilt by dataminers. There is really no benefit for us the consumers. It's just to pad out player engagement.

  • Most data miner spoilers aren’t seen by the community. Meanwhile Bungie wouldn’t be able to put any of the story based fan art for artist of the week, and Twitter wouldn’t be usable by people who want to pace themselves because people are -blam!- holes. And pacing out the story doesn’t hurt anyone so it’s better off being limited each week.

  • Why not release it all at once so the people who want to binge it can but the people who want to pace themselves can do that too?

  • People binging would spoil the story for those that want to pace themselves. And if you want to binge then do what people do with shows. Wait until it’s all out and then binge it.

  • Spoliers? For a D2 seasonal story? You're joking.

  • Yeah, it’s a story, with an ending. So there are spoilers. Every story has things you can spoil. It’s the sort of concept a five-year-old can understand so I don’t know how you don’t get that.

  • Eh, the plot is always really simplistic anyway AND the data miners have already told us the plot before a season starts. I see no issue with them giving us the whole seasons worth of plot at the start of the season UNLESS a pause makes sense in the narrative. The way they do it now is immersion breaking.

  • It’s more immersion braking to pretend that all the events happen aback to back. And I don’t care what dataminers do. For the most part the community doesn’t see the spoilers they post but they do see spoilers posted on Twitter, by Bungie, and the stories aren’t always predictable. I mean are people really going to claim that the future war cult lady setting the vex loose was a predictable story point? That they know where this seasons events are going? If you do then you’re full of -blam!- and know it. And having those stories spoilers is prevented with the spaced time for missions.

  • There's no way you're actually that invested in a D2 seasonal story that you could consider it "spoiler-able."

  • I'd like to binge and get this stuff done because I feel locked in to this game for almost an entire season. I have other games I'd like to get to completing.

  • No idea. You'd have to ask Bungie.
