I would argue strand is the more the opposite of void. Void is gravity while strand let's you break reality and uses anti gravity movement (grappling hook) Also void is largely about push and pull, debuffs and overshields while strand focused on trapping opponents suspended in air.

 • Except when designed the hook was just for one class. If it was meant to be symbolic of Strand, it would of been universal to begin with. Trapping enemies is what Stasis does as well. Even more so then Strand. I’m not sure how they think this makes sense.

 • As far as we know the other classes had other in air movement options however the grappling hook could have just been better and cool. After all its really popular with a lot of fps games right now. If you watch the clip you will see in several scenes the guardians suspended enemies in air with strand. So based off the short clip of gameplay it seems like stand focuses on anti gravity + creation. While void has plenty of lore suggesting it represents gravity. Graviton Lance, and Lorenzo are prime example. Not too mention you have vortex abilities (singularities) and many abilities are about pushing/pulling enemies.

 • You mean you assume that, cause that’s not what they said about it. They said it was cool and the others had to have it, not that it was better than theirs or replaced theirs. Which would give you reason to assume but they didn’t. So I wouldn’t assume it and wouldn’t make a justification from an assumption. Hanging them in the hair is stopping them just like stasis. Only difference is it happens a few feet by design, as you can still freeze enemies off the ground. And it can’t be antigravity and creation because Light is about creation. Darkness is about reduction, Final Shape. Plus string isn’t anti gravity. Void actually uses gravity visuals. Anti gravity would be like repulsion, a force that reflects. Strings and repulsion are not alike. So right now you’re just standing on it being a few feet higher then stasis. Not really much there. I mean this isn’t hard. They changed it for narrative purposes, like they’ve done before. 🤷

 • True so if that would be case what would be a darkness subclass opposite for arc?

 • Bungie said stasis is the opposite of arc. Stasis is about slow and freeze. Arc is about speed and more speed. Slow and freeze are anti speed. Solar is heal...so anti solar would be DoT or poison.
