Bungie…hear me out…Vesper of Radius+Arc 3.0

What Vesper currently does: Rifts release an Arc shockwave when cast. Rift energy recharges faster when you are surrounded by enemies. What Vesper could be doing: Rifts release an Arc shockwave when cast. While Amplified, enemies damaged by the shockwave become Jolted. Rift energy recharges faster when you are surrounded by enemies. Would this make Vesper a go to exotic? Probably not. But adding Arc 3.0 synergy would be nice.

  • It's currently best on Stasis with the Frostpulse Aspect since the Arc Shockwave will Shatter adds for a nice one two punch. But it makes more sense to have it synergize with Arc 3.0 and Jolt.

    • Or on casting rift it release an arc pulse, then for the duration of the rift, it will jolt enemies that get too close and being surrounded increases recharge rate.

    • I still use it quite a lot especially when running stasis but is really a waste as is only good for sliding into groups and hitting them.Was pretty powerful before it got nerfed a few seasons ago.

    • If anything I think it should jolt by default, and if you’re amplified it should also blind enemies. Or the other way around would work too.

      • [u]Planetary Torrent-[/u] Changes your Rift ability to emit an Arc Shockwave that Blinds nearby enemies upon activation, knocks them back, and summons powerful Lightning strikes around you. While Amplified, you create multiple Arc bursts, and the damage [/duration] and distance of the knockback and Blinding effects are increased. Your Rift recharges faster when surrounded or when defeating Arc Debuffed targets [spoiler] to clarify, the "change" to your Rift would be something like Icefall Mantle-- a different and instant animation. Also, you would retain your original Rift function, it would only be shortened slightly due to the ability activating much faster[/spoiler]

        I would prefer if it worked more like reactive pulse does and automatically releases the shockwave when surrounded. Would need a cool down period though obviously

        • Combining rift with amplified is stupid. Amplified is for moving faster, rift makes you stand still. Amplified should make rift an instant cast that leaves a trail behind itself of rift energy that only lasts a second or two, that lasts for the duration a rift would, until you stop moving at which point the rift would fall on the floor. Then vesper becomes extremely valuable in that you can run in, use the slide melee, and then pop rift to for a huge combo of damage and jolting as well as good ability to escape any remaining enemies with active healing and speed.

          • All Vesper needs is a buff to the radius and damage of the shockwave. Make it a Landfall level detonation. Same with Khepri’s Horn, it’s such a lame little fire trail. Make it a freaking WALL of flame that blasts enemies back In PvP make them both do 100 damage with a knockback effect

            • I have actually been using this build and I JUST had this exact thought. I'm glad someone else agrees. BUNGIE PLEASE ADD THIS FUNCTIONALITY IT WOULD BE AWESOME :) This exotic has amazing potential. Its very fun having an offensive rift similar to stasis, but I agree its missing the ability to synergize with the jolt/amplified mechanics. I wouldn't change a thing about what you put above, only want to add that I think they should reduce the delay between casting your rift and the time the arc wave occurs. They should bring it in line with the stasis rift freeze cast time, which is more or less immediate upon cast. They could perhaps also consider increasing the arc damage in some way...maybe based on number of combatants near you? Nothing insane, but it should do more damage against majors. While amplified and running faster you can slide into enemies and cast your rift, killing most red bar enemies while your arc soul cleans up the rest. Very satisfying. 100 Disc 100 Recov Electrostatic Mind and Arc Soul Helmet mods: could do void affinity for super regen on class ability cast when surrounded OR any affinity and just use ammo finder/orbs from weapons for super regen and maintaining weapon damage output Other mods: something to boost your grenade regen OR rift regen even more depending on preference (personally I chose grenade regen bc lets face it, the arc wave doesn't do that much damage) -charged with light /wells + ionic traces -Grenade kickstart on stasis gauntlets -Impact induction on solar gauntlets -Bolstering detonation and/or focusing strike on void gauntlets -Utility kickstart on stasis class item

            • I think they'll rework some of these armour pieces as the season goes on, probably when the season story is done.

              • What I’m personally hoping for is maybe this: - Releases a shockwave matching your subclass type on cast. Your rift and Well of Radiance deals continuous damage to enemies standing inside them. Rift charges faster while surrounded.
