It's been too long since OffTopic has had a good cat post, so I'd like you all to meet Lira.
I've had Lira since around 2012/2013ish. She doesn't like anybody other than me and my mother (Lira used to be mom's cat). She tolerates my sister and hides from/ignores everybody else.
She also has separation anxiety, so it's always rough when I have to leave the house for an extended period of time. Whoever I have taking care of her while I'm gone usually says that she meows constantly and waits on my bed for me to come home, which always breaks my heart. She insists on being in the same room as me, usually just sitting 3-6 feet away, staring into my soul. She loves chin scratches, curling up on my lap to knead on my thigh, and sleeping on my legs at night :)
This picture is actually a couple years old, but I saw it in my camera roll and decided to share it here. I have better pictures, but imgur insists on being [i]absolutely worthless[/i] and making the other uploads fail. Sorry.

7 RepliesI have three cats; Joey, Dutchess, and Toulouse. Joey & Dutchess love me very much, Toulouse does not. Dutchess & Toulouse belong to my sister, who has temporarily moved back in with us, Joey is actually ours. Joey is very awkward, and silly. He’s the weirdest cat I’ve ever met. Dutchess will come up to you, be super nice, and then wait for you to turn your back before doing whatevet thing she knows she’s not supposed to. Toulouse doesn’t like being around me, so I dunno what he’s like, really. And I have pictures of none of them, so here’s Mr. Mew instead.

For my fellow indoor cat owners, if you are able, installing a Catio can be a huge quality of life boost for your cat. Mine loves to spend hours in this thing daily, regardless of snow or heatwaves.
