I'm actually a fan of the direction they're heading, but I don't love where it leaves us in D2 at the moment. I've always said that if Bungie did a D3, the best decision would be to get rid of isolated classes. Let a character just be 'a guardian', and then have all of the classes abilities available. If you wanna build as a hybrid Warlock/Hunter, cool, or if you wanna be a pure Titan then that's cool too. Having three isolated classes becomes a balancing nightmare in a game like this though. You could still have characters maintain therir identity through how they choose to build, but it wouldn't be defined on a character selection screen. Just my thought though.

I kinda like that, having 3 characters is kinda meh for all the reasons you mentioned!!! A single Guardian experience being able to shape and change your identity and playstyle sounds fun.

They should look at elder scrolls online and see how they keep classes balanced, at least look at other games that have multiple classes and thier way of balancing them.
