I really enjoyed the new system that stasis brought to the game, and initially I always wanted to update the other classes to compete and for customizability, but I feel like the end result has been a bit underwhelming.
The reason for that feeling, I think, is that the system consolidated the subclasses, which diluted what made them unique. Then you gave everybody everyone else's grenades. All of the fragments are the same for all the classes. Hunters have blink now. Then the Lightfall preview came and it was mentioned how the grappling was chosen for the hunters, then you just gave it to everyone else so everyone grapples. Now everyone is Spiderman.
I guess I just feel like the classes are so diluted now that they barely feel different. The core packages are the same across all of them. With the lack of new things 3.0 brought and all that was taken away, there's a creeping boredom. I know there's gotta be somebody else feeling this. Like this is your game, and you want to support it through everything, but at the same time you're kinda bored. I'm coming to terms with that feeling with each passing season now.

1 ReplyCompletely agree. Game is boring. Same enemies, same strikes, same gambit, same crucible, same process every season: do a new horde mode, level up artifact, level up season pass, do a time-gated quest, visit the hologram machine, complete endless bounties. Bungie lost the magic of Destiny along the way. They are still making money so why would they change? I don’t really blame them. This will be my last season I believe and I’ve been playing since the beginning. It’s barely even fun to log in any more. I basically do bounties to collect bright dust and the highlight of the week is to see what Eververse has for bright dust and even that is usually a letdown. I really want the game to be good but it is season after season of the same thing. Day one of the new season and it’s already boring. Weapon crafting is not even enjoyable, and you’re right, the new subclass model is boring.
