Ngl everything except Calus felt like it came out of nowhere for Lightfall. Neptune was mentioned like once in a lore tab, there are no recent mentions of a successful Exodus fleet, and Strand is coming out of nowhere.
Unless Neomuna is the pacifist Jovian colony Efrideet went to, or if its where the Factions ended up after Splicer, it currently feels like an unnecessary addition at the 11th hour. At this rate we'll be dealing with Xivu and the Witness at the same time in Final Shape

I've seen some speculation talking about how it might be Nefele's stronghold mentioned in Rasputin lore. He deleted all records of the location from the archive which would explain why we don't know anything about it. Would be cool if this was the tie in.

Since making this post I've thought the same thing. Would be cool to finally pay off this 2 year Rasputin dormancy storyline

When I saw “Lightfall” I expected dark and gritty (forgnigjt) But what I got was basically- Green spider-men take on fat rhino man and megamind with the help of superman in the world of Cyberpunk -
Ngl I'm chill with that

Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 8/24/2022 2:56:01 PMI'm also extremely tired of so much content being Calus-based content. The one thing I rolled my eyes at the hardest was MORE F - - KING CABAL. They completely redesigned so much of destiny yet they still can't create new enemy types since freaking destiny 1 launch. Then sit there with these fake smiles in the live stream presentation telling us all about how super cool and great it is that the cabal are now re-skinned and it's so exciting. No, it's not exciting. It has never been exciting to re-skin the same tired enemy types. Snore.

I think the whole point of a secret civilization is that no one knows about it. At some point there comes a time when new story threads are required. Not everything in a 10 year franchise can be foreshadowed. We're exploring something from after the Golden age no one knew about. I'm actually really excited. Everything looks new and original and like nothing I would've expected. -
I’m not trying to hate on it (I’m actually quite liking the vibes of the location… I’m tired of fighting in ruins). But you’d think that Hunters would’ve searched everywhere in the solar system by now… especially if it’s an entire planet…

Did you see the movie Black Panther and how Wakanda was hidden? Golden Age tech and a paracausal artifact would allow for cloaking and gravity technology that could fool sensors and make a large city appear as uninhabitable atmosphere and land conditions. The Witness is sending Calus there for a powerful artifact for a reason. This artifact is likely the reason they were able to hide and it likely has something to do with how the Traveler fooled the Witness into leaving and thinking it killed the Traveler. -
Maybe, from there it could have something to do with our new darkness power. Not in that that’s why the witness is going after it exactly, but it could be that our safeguarding of the relic is giving us the ability to access Strand. I’ve got this running theory that this new paradise is going to have a dark side to it. Maybe the relic that’s keeping them hidden is connected to the darkness itself and not the traveler, and the witness wants to reclaim it as his own. (I’m not on board with all the hippy-dippy vibes going on with this hidden city. Utopias don’t play well in anything with a meaningful story unless it’s there to subvert expectations or call attention to a discrepancy. It seems too good to be true, so it’s either going to be preachy and boring or it’s going to have an edge to it. (I might just be wrong and crazy. The whole way they were talking about it made it seem like one of those cringy early 2000’s Native American school videos that only told you about the good stuff and not the bad… making me think there’s gonna be a twist…)
