Greetings! Unfortunately, there is no way to remove accounts from your Cross Save setup if you cannot authenticate them when doing the deactivating process.
Destiny Player Support and Bungie cannot modify or remove accounts linked to Bungie.net profiles. To protect player privacy and data, you must be able to log in to any linked accounts to prove ownership prior to modifying your linked account. If you no longer have access to a linked account, you will need to reach out to the specific platform’s support for assistance with account recovery options.
via the Destiny 2: Cross Save Guide. If you believe your account has been compromised, I recommend changing passwords and enabling 2FA (if not enabled already) as some steps in increasing profile security.
- Do not share account details with anyone. Bungie employees will NEVER ask for this information. - Use a different password and account security questions for each credential. - Ensure that any E-mail account tied to these credentials uses an alternate password as well. - Update passwords frequently.
More on Account Security in the Account Security Guide.

  • Even if I change my password, he is able to sign in with his xbox account to it. Really - no other way?!

  • I mention to change passwords to help prevent this from happening again.
Really - no other way?!
Sadly, no other way. The only way to unlink accounts is to authenticate them when you want to deactivate Cross Save. • Not good. There must be something I can do about this. Bungie needs to have a possibilty help in this kind of situation. If some one breaks into your house, you should be able to force him out!

  • Bungie doesn't store our login information so they have an access to it. So you will need to work with xbox. Bungie can't nor will they force a de link of accounts.

  • Due to the amount of these "I was hacked" cases are in fact down to account recoveries gone wrong why should they. Bungie has Repeatedly said account security is our responsibility not theirs.

  • I agree that it is our reponsiblity to take of the security. Yet, in case of someone breaks into your house, will police say: please take care of your security - we will not help robber out. This is what Bungie does right now. I have emails to show how Steam recovered my account. And my case with Destiny 2 is not solved with help of Bungie.

  • The question that needs to be asked is.... Why was your account hacked? As I said too many have used the "hacked" excuse forcing Bungie into this zero tolerance policy. And... as far as Bungie is concerned as you can not authenticate the required account they have to ask... are you the real account holder or the hacker (or buyer of a account) trying to remove the owners real account. As you have been told Bungie does not have the account details so has to use the authentication system. Until they are 110% sure you are the owner they will not allow anything to be done.

Please do not insult me as doubting that I am the hacker. As I told, I have a proof that I am the owner of this account, as well of Steam account. What if you make mistake, should you be punished by it? That is why recovery systems are created. It is good customery service. It is about taking care of your clients. As soon as the company doesn´t help its customers, how ever many they have, it is in trouble. So there is recovery system - if I am 110% possible to proof that I am the owner - not hacker. Show it to me then.

  • As I said Bungie does not have access to your account details so anything you provide would be useless as it could not be verified. This is why Bungie has to use a authentication system. Thing is if someone came crying to Bungie about "their" account and Bungie did what they asked and it was in fact your account you would be the first kicking off about it. Now the shoe is on the other foot. You want something done but Bungie says "NO" due to security reasons but you are kicking off about it So what do you want a company going zero tolerance over security or one that let's anyone naming false claims messing with your account And as I pointed out you could be the hacker or someone who bought the account. Bungie has to consider this. As I also pointed out the "I was hacked" is a common excuse to try and get Bungie to clean up the mess left from a recovery gone wrong ... so your claim has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

  • Recovery systems are there for reason. It is very bad business to not to serve a customer. One day all these kids are adults and they will remember who helped and who didn´t. One day one of them will be the boss in Bungie. Steam was able to recover my lost account. Hacker changed my password and contact email to my account. Yet - after I contacted to Steam, they were able recover my account. Of course I needed to show with number of ways that I am the owner. Bungie could do same. Actually lets think forward a little, Bungie could provide a service to recover account, to sever unwanted connections... Many would be willing to pay for it - let say 50$ for it. Hackers most likely would not pay for it. Again, who will help? Microsoft says that is the resonsibility of Bungie to do it. I asked.
