Anyone else think it's weird that Titans got a dodge ability? (PvP)

I'm well aware that I'm summoning an ocean of salt here, but does anyone else think it's weird that Titans got a dodge ability? Titans and Warlocks already move faster than Hunters do, unless the Hunter is ceiling-jumping with Stompees (which is situational and generally worse); Warlocks have an extremely low cooldown instant dash that can be used in-air, and now Titans have a dash that apparently goes as far as a Hunter's dodge, while maintaining their faster movement speed and a new over-shield while sprinting (which will apparently deplete their barrier charge, but that's insanely worth it). I've always played all three classes, but mainly Warlock. I see a clear identity for Titans and Warlocks, but Hunters make less and less sense each season. They're the rogue archetype, but they're not faster, they're not more nimble/ maneuverable, invis is largely useless since they nerfed it in 3.0, they no longer have improved radar, improved sprint speed on Void, and they have a few perks that improve gunplay, but not significantly enough for it to ever really matter. On top of that, Warlock's class ability stat is a must have in PvP anyways, and rifts are pretty potent, although situational. The Titan class ability stat is ridiculously strong, giving you more health, making it hard to flinch you, and also improving the ability cooldown of barricade, which is a very potent PvP ability. It seems like Bungie has leaned heavily into making Titans wildly potent in Arc 3.0, and they're largely ignored the class identity of Hunters. Tons of people play Hunter, but it's probably because literally every game where there's a rogue, it's disproportionately picked. Is it just me, or was it a weird choice to give Titans a dodge? Edit: For context, I play Voidlock the vast majority of the time, but I also love Bubble Titan and I used to like top-tree Nightstalker, until it lost pretty much all of its interesting perks in Void 3.0.

Yeah but if they gave us a rift or a barricade they’d be like “WhY dO hUnTeRs AlWaYs StEaL oUr StUfF!!!” Not saying it should happen but we all know it would happen

Honestly if this gets Titans to shut up about Hunters for even a little bit, then I don’t really mind them getting a dodge.

    • No it’s not weird and it’s complete garbage. It’s nothing remotely compared to twilight.

    • People cry about hunter the most and some reasons are valid because there are A LOT of toxic hunter out there that will piss you off in PvP but same thing goes for the other 2 classes. Bungie just seems to have a focus on keeping hunter at a power ceiling while the other 2 classes hulk smash like crazy and throw energy orbs/fire blasts. Get used to it unfortunately

      • Now you must deal with a juggernaut titan with a dodge, shoulder charge, and Antaeus wards. I couldn’t have asked for more. Also hunters aren’t slow. Faster than warlocks without Icarus, faster than titans. Shoulder charge doesn’t increase movement speed it just covers a short distance faster. Characters get faster if they can bunny hop which is a skill gap not an issue of class

I think it makes sense in-universe from a logical perspective, so I'm cool with it. They have rocket thrusters that are capable of lifting their heavy armor across considerable distances at high velocity, so it makes sense that they could pump out a quick blast to propel themselves into a lateral dash. As far as the juggernaut shield goes, it sounds like it will drain class ability energy. They said that the dodge is a new class ability, so I'm operating under the assumption that Jug will drain their dash energy if they have that equipped in place of barrier. For the whole Hunters being obsolete as the movement class bit, I wholeheartedly agree. Yeah, we can change directions faster in mid-air, but that's only useful in PvP (eww) and Hunters are objectively slower and less mobile in every other way. Slower lateral speed, lower jump height, shorter jump distance. Hunters, the mobility class, need to waste their exotic slot to jump as high or far as other classes, and they still can't outrun them (or even keep pace). Hunters should have Stompee jump height by default.

            • Im pretty sure the new devs are titan mains. They get everything. Bungies idea of balance is make titans op on every subclass. People asked for balance and bungies answer is make titan the only class worth playing.

              • Hunters are just fine and continue to be the most viable pvp option. Titans getting a dodge levels the playing field.

              • It just evens the playing field a bit. It doesnt seem as drastic as gamblers tho, but its a nice tool for the toolkit tho. Looking forward to it. :)

No. Everyone has a dodge ability now. Even Hive Knights have a healing shield and rolling dodge.

              • Arc is supposed to be all about movement, so any of the classes getting a movement ability fits. Whether or not the new dodge will be a fit for Titan, I have no idea.

Arc Titans are all about getting close, so why not a dash to help.

Weird for a Sentinel? Yes Weird for a Sunbreaker? Yes Weird for a Striker? No Striker are meant to be mobile and quick on their feet. Should they be as fast or as agile as Hunters? No and I honestly do not think this “dodge” ability is going to be anything like the Hunters dodge. I think it’s going to be a little side dash which is something I proposed a while back. Also Striker has been trash for a very long time… specifically Fist of Havoc. It’s time for it to get the spotlight again
