After playing Destiny for over 6 years, with literally thousands of hours invested I believe I have enough experience to say that I believe that CROSSPLAY in PvP is KILLING the GAME.
I'm not alone, the clan mates I regularly play PvP with, all feel a huge degree of frustration when playing against players on other platforms. It's now reached a stage where our love of the game is being destroyed.
The issue is when playing higher levels of PvP when you are facing good teams anyway the crossplay lag where there is often little or no hit registration of your shots and the players on other platforms appear from nowhere and shot you from around corners makes it feel like Bungie is killing you not the other team.
Some of my friends are talking about uninstalling the game or finding another game to play as it has become so bad.
Please Bungie give is an in-game setting to give us the freedom to choose, I feel we need the ability to turn off crossplay in PvP.

16 RepliesIt's gotten SIGNIFICANTLY worse since cross play. And if you turn it off, you literally can't find a match.. at least on PS.
-
I will literally be done with Bungie if I am required to crossplay with PC players without any option not to. Right after I just spoke all these praises I got into two matches of crucible and lobbies full of PC players? Nah.

CROSSPLAY is KILLING PvP in the GAME
PvP is killing PvP in this game. The PvP cryhards are killing PvP in this game. Bungo is killing PvP in this game. PvP needs to hurry up and die so it can be buried and forgotten about. Just remove it already.

5 RepliesPvp players are killing pvp in this game. Every single day there is a new complaint from self proclaimed good players. This is op, that is op. Not enough maps. This new map sucks. Sbmm sucks. Cbmm sucks. Blah blah blah Man I suck at pvp, I’ve always sucked at pvp, I’ll always suck at pvp. That’s on me, not op weapons, not rubbish maps. Completely on me If you all just stopped complaining for a while and actually made an effort then maybe pvp wouldn’t be in the state it’s in

1 ReplyPlay PvE. If you don't want to do that I suggest playing a better game for PvP.
-
1 ReplyAll of these issues have been here since D1. Before crossplay. Peer to peer connection. Will only get worst when SBMM is implemented. Only solution is dedicated servers. I believe there is a option to turn cross play off, but never tried it. I agree cross play does contribute to bad connections.
-
They are getting rid of cross play lag next season with Strict SBMM lag next season.
-
1 ReplyI disagree the issues have always been there because Bungie doesn’t want to pay anymore for dedicated severs. I will say though crossplay has exacerbated lag issues
-
Hasn't PvP been dying for years or something. Don't think having a on/off option will stop it from dying.
-
1 ReplyAgreed. Shameless bump.
-
4 RepliesLOL I love the posts acting like PVP in D2 was ever good or competitive and just now several years later, friends are gonna quit over it or whatever....
-
19 RepliesAm I the only one who senses literally zero difference between pvp before and after crossplay?
-
29 RepliesEdited by AubsTheBelieber: 8/22/2022 9:44:36 PMYou are mistaken. PC players do not get matched against console players unless you specifically have a PC player in your fireteam. And console players are a mix of Playstation and Xbox only which literally makes no difference. So I am missing the issue here. Crossplay with PC and Console player is only on PVE activities if you aren't playing with cross platform fireteams kiddo. In addition. PVP killed PVP long before this post.

8 RepliesJust wait until sbmm, if you think its bad now then just wait lol

It's not just PvP. It's PvE too. I'm in a Playstation Clan and Saturday we were doing carries for first time Vow of the Disciple completions. The lag that we ran into when helping PC and XBOX players was literally bananas. When Bungo "tested" crossplay it was for two days and only in Strikes. While I enjoy playing with friends on other platforms the whole crossplay thing has been poorly implemented and "support" for the community's input is nonexistent.

2 RepliesI still dont get where these posts are coming from. I've never noticed any difference in server quality between before and after crossplays introduction. It's about as good or bad as destiny has always been to me.
-
3 RepliesI disagree
-
4 RepliesMy man I've been reading _______ is killing destiny pvp for almost 8 years. This has got to be the slowest death I've ever witnessed in my life. Get back in line. Your turn will come.
-
1 ReplyI agree Shouldn’t be forced to crossplay in any mode. There should be a On/Off toggle option
-
Nah, playing with my xbox and pc friends while being on PlayStation is a dream, best update to ever exist.
-
Pvp is killing the game!
-
2 RepliesPvp was dead before crossplay. Pvp is realllllly dead Remove bright dust and weekly bounties and watch it drop off even more. Somehow bungie wants to worse than cod
-
Bad PvP is bad PvP
-
It's because the new xboxs have a dev mode and they can download PC cheats and we have no anti cheat on console. They need to disable cross play for trials at least. Hear that devs? You need to fix this. ASAP ladies and gents. Cronus was bad enough but now this? And you can't detect any of it. And you never ban reported players on console just about.

I have just as much experience to say… Ya really just suck and love looking for strawman arguments 😂
