I ran some GMs on my warlock for fun with Witherhoard and the chest piece for fusion grenades. My friends were amazed at how much damage I’d do to bosses and champions after I would post up behind them and just start chucking *basically* infinite fusion grenades. Then for another run I used Sunbracers and Solar grenades. Also did another run with the boot that send out seekers and paired it with the healing/buffing HC (blanking on the name) and just kept everyone alive and doing bonus damage. Was quite viable for how I play. Any build that I have ready has its pros and cons when I play my warlock, but dang, I have fun with each one that’s for sure.

Lumina and assembler is good on any warlock class, healing grenades is just the cherry. I'm not saying ignitions are bad, but the subclass is harder scoped on it then anything, I just want some new aspect that's not improved nades to play with, as it feels boring to have to use 1 thing that half of the subclass is hard scoped on. -
Freedom only exists within structure. Bungie is retuning the game so that it plays more like Destiny 1, and that supers aren't so radically overpowered any more. They did that early on in an desperate bid to get power to us because they had made such poor decisions with the weapon system, and had no room to make our weapons any more powerful without major overhauls to the system. They are finally at a point now, where they can take back some of that power from supers, and give it back to other parts of play.

Changing how the game is played that much will permit a lose of players. People got into to destiny for what it is, not what it is going to turn into. If the way it's been played is changed to much people will drop it and go on. -
I said that three years ago when Bungie announced "Unification of Vision". That they had cleaned house at Bungie so that everyone that was left was willing to get behind the game becoming an Action-RPG/MMO-RPG hybrid. That "action-MMO". I said then that the game was going to change in ways that many players were not going to like, and there was going to be a "house cleaning" within the player base. As those who couldn't abide by the changes, would have to re-evaluate their relationship to the game and decide if they wanted to stay or not. But the bottomline is simple. When Bungie split with Activision, they also left behind the idea that they were going to try to make a game that would please everyone. Now their goal is to make a very SPECIFIC type of game---the game they want to make---and then accept whomever it is that shows up and wants to play it. With Subclass 3.0, Bungie is making the game play more and more like an RPG...and less and less like a campaign FPS. I accept that some people are not going to like that....and I think Bungie has as well. They're willing to live with it.

I came to this game to have fun with one of the unique classes and their said and unique power fantasy. Not play copy and paste with slight difference simulator, that's why destiny always interested me, it's unique per class power fantasy. -

I just hope arc warlock isn't going to be solar all over again, I just want to have fun, not sit for hours speccing into a build I'll use and get bored of in a week and after have no more options because everything is ignition ignition ignition igntion -

Two words, build diversity, only reliable thing about solar lock now is grenades with bracers or starfire, and having to use a weapon with incandescent massively limits the build diversity. Unless you wanna use sky burners or Prometheus. Super are really bad in a way now, daybreak straight up dog without dawn chorus in pve. Bungie said they were going to promote build diversity but look! They only LIMITED IT. Phoenix dive is gone, bottom dawn is gone, which there was no reason to destroy a loved subclass except to spite people. -
Not "reliable". The issue is that the Sunbracer's build is arguably overpowered...and given that so much of this season's play is focused around bullet-spongy Nightmares? There's little reason to run other builds. For now. But that will not be the case for other content. Where build diversity comes in with other content. Is that it least you spread the powers of Well of Radiance to other classes....and you get the freedom to run other builds. Like a Void-based Devour build instead of people giving you the side-eye if you aren't running Well of Radiance and Lunafaction Boots. Phoenix Dive isn't gone. Its just been made more powerful, and put on a cooldown. People just don't want to adjust to its different role. Bottom-tree was overpowered in PVE. Bungie toned down the super...and spread its power to abilities in the form of scorch. Actually there was a reason: To properly TUNE the game...and give more options. Bungie didn't get it quite right out of the box...but what we have right now is a LOT better than before for those who are interested in playing this game as an RPG.

titans have bubble for the same reason as well, only hunter, a class for scouting not support not a wizard, so you cant make that argument all the way except void titan cant heal but gives overshield -
Yep. ...and Bubble got nerfed. The issue here is that this game is not built on the 'Trinity" of MMOs: DPS, Healer, Tank. What Subclass 3.0 is doing is that its spreading those functions out among the three classes, and letting players decide which they prefer to play. Hunter does DPS slightly better. Warlocks do healer slightly better. Titans do tank slightly better. What the classes really are about is that each represents different fighting styles....and different power-fantasies. So they did what they did so that people were freer to play the power-fantasy that appeals to them....without being LOCKED into a specific way to play because how the game was built.

arguably yes bottom tree was overpowered, but thats what nerfs are for, phoenix dive was traded, and traded into the wrong slot at that. pheonix dive itself is alright, its the presence of rift that botches its usage as rift is better for healing which is what you want for a class ability. well is very powerful a bit to much, but thats for other content, champions and some majors in higher level content can still one tap you in pre solar 3.0 well and now well. but nerfing benevolent dawn to literal fu**in kickstaret mod in pvp but instead pve? who thought that was good. ignitions arent bad, the problem is the whole solar 3.0 is based around it, only 4 fragments for healing or less. its overtuned to ignition. healing is just way worse, anybody can do healing grenades and lumina and do just as well. -
arguably yes bottom tree was overpowered, but thats what nerfs are for
...and it was nerfed, by taking away scorch and its positive feedback loop from its super.

Yeah, I miss extend daybreak as that was the only thing that made that super good, I understand daybreak kills extend needing to be nerfed but at least keep the dive attack so something can extend it's god awful duration.
