A buddy and I have been playing for a couple years now but don't know much about the game, gear, raids or dungeons. I'm looking to up my knowledge of the game. I want to play more then just the basic game. So I'm looking for anyone to help us or me out. Just have a lot of patience with us lol. One of us is stubburn lol.

4 RepliesHello!! I do endgame help - raid, dungeon and GM help. I explain mods, talk through mechanics and encounters, and answer any questions you may have. I can be found streaming on Twitch Tuesday after reset and Sunday 12-5pm UK time / 7am-12noon EST. I have a Discord too where you can ask questions and find a fireteam. There are some great Sherpas in there, and a good bunch of people. DM me if you want any more info.

1 ReplyThere are many very helpful guides out there for all sorts of content. I would suggest utilizing YouTube as much as possible. Also, the Fireteams section can help you assemble teams for any activity. You can specify that you’re looking for help. Hope this helps.

1 ReplyEdited by iliopoulosXD: 8/15/2022 11:54:23 PMIf you play a lot you have core mechanics and gun play down and you should be able to LFG a raid like VoG. Three experienced guardians can carry or guide and teach you the core mechanics. Most of it is killing mobs and burning a champion or two and in the middle and end a boss. Get comfortable and move on. Also there are enough videos to watch to get a sense of strong loadouts and mechnics and some lfg groups will need bodies for easy burns of bosses where you can score some loot. A word of caution LFG isnt what it was. Its less sherpa'ing and more we want to get in and out. But you can still find good guides. Bungie pooped the bed with too many mechanics and do this now or wipe so the tolerance for people not holding there own tends to be low. Shame..because it used to be fun... Good luck guardians

6 RepliesI’m going to be real here. I could help you for sure, but do you know how I learned my first dungeon? I went in with my son and we just figured it out, no help, no guides, and it was so much fun. Having someone teach you everything is not really the way it’s meant to be. You have to figure stuff out. Read the mods, test them, try new weapons, new exotics. Raids are different if you are only 2, but everything else, you really shouldn’t need that much help. And from experience, help turns into just telling the person which mods to use all the time. I’ll give you one tip, 100 resilience, and resistances. You need them to stay alive.

The big word in your post is patience. Some of these guys here are your best bet for being able to enjoy a raid for the first time. Doing a crucial mechanic that keeps the fireteam alive gets some adrenaline going and helps you develop mastery of a raid. There are plenty of raid encounters where you could be shooting common enemies while the others do the more complicated stuff, but it kinda robs you from the first raid experience if you have the time to pick up an important role. Ask the fireteam what major roles are there in encounters and if you could have some help being one of those. Someone shooting “ads” (common enemies) can coach you through your job and develop muscle memory. That’s the fun in raiding, it’s almost like I go on autopilot and my fireteam just talks about nonsense while we do an endgame activity. I think everyone deserves to understand what truly goes on in a complicated activity like a raid Sorry I’m rambling on, I just feel bad for newer players when they don’t learn much from a raid (it’s very common)
