Saitama’s never really fought a baddie on the level of DBZ, let alone Super/GT. That one big bad at the end of season 1 was probably about on the level of Raditz/Saiyan arc Vegeta, and though Saitama beat him pretty easily, GT Goku could’ve taken a guy like that out even easier.

But was Saitama serious?

He had to use his Serious Style - Serious Punch, so at least for a moment he was fighting somewhere near his power cap. And though yes, his Serious Punch took down the big bad in one punch, Goku wouldn’t have even needed to go that far. Frieza-arc Goku, before he ever went Super Saiyan, was able to take down 3 members of the Ginyu Force without breaking a sweat. All three of these members were more than a match for Frieza-arc Vegeta, who was much stronger than Saiyan-arc Vegeta, who is in the upper power level of how strong the OPM villain is. On top of that, each successive level of standard Super Saiyan is a 50x power boost, and Super Saiyan 4 is a 10x power boost on top of that. Ergo, not even counting how his base power increased, SSJ4 Goku is 1,250,000x stronger than he was when he fought the Ginyu Force, where he was already strong enough to take out the OPM villain with a flick on the forehead.

As much as I agree with this assessment, the novelty of One Punch Man (In my mind) just keeps running into an endless stream of errors. I really dislike cross over fight ideas because having to think about who would win from a roster of characters in 2 separate universes, with different power scaling systems and most of my LIKEABILITY of each individual... And it... Gahhhhhhhhhhh!!! I enjoy them for different reasons why are people obsessed with this??!?!?!?!?!?!?
