My brother can't play Destiny 2 because his game says Banned but Appeal email says Restriction two times. Why is that? Restriction is like a Timeout, Ban is permanent

Please review our Destiny Account Restrictions and Banning Policies for more information. If you'd like to appeal your restriction or ban, please view our Appeal Ban or Restriction Contact Form. If someone used your brother's account to play Destiny 2 and a ban was given to that account, it will not be overturned since the account still performed the action.

4 Replies“Restriction” is the outcome of a ban; your brother was banned and therefore his access is restricted. Nothing about the definition of “restrict” or “restriction” implies it is temporary. According to the ticket response, your brother appealed a ban, the case was reviewed and the ban was upheld, that trying to appeal again could potentially violate the CoC, and that that maybe someday it will be re-reviewed but until then, it is what it is.

3 RepliesEdited by Twin Inferno: 8/12/2022 10:00:32 PMI read the responses. Listen… maybe instead of going on about this issue, maybe your brother shouldn’t have cheated, and his account had it coming. Now, with that out of the way. Maybe you should be there for your brother. If you’re gonna go all the way and state that he’ll he suicidal then you need to take responsibility and make sure that doesn’t happen. If you really care for him then maybe you could help him with a new account. My question is why you didn’t help him when he chose to cheat. Sounds to me like you aren’t helping him out considering his mental disability. Your responsibility surpasses what you do every day like gaming. Maybe you need to help him realize that an account should never have such value in his life that he’d have bad thoughts bc of it. You have to help him.
