Unfortunately, if you weren't greeted with your characters on the character select screen when logging in on Destiny 2, then your save data wasn't fully eligible for veterancy import with your character.
If your characters weren't available when you logged in, then there's no way to make them available now. You'll simply need to recreate them.
Please note that the only things that were imported were cosmetics (a few bonus emblems for milestones, and some slight dialog changes in some missions and with some npcs). Your equipment, abilities, etc, weren't part of that.

Edited by DiZzYpAnDaUrSa: 8/3/2022 11:26:24 PMAh, gotcha. That's kind of a shame. Although I guess since it's all cosmetic anyways it shouldn't hinder the experience all that much. Veteran dialogue would've been nice, but after reading some more it seems like a lot of that has been removed anyways. Out of curiosity, would having a Destiny 1 account affect my new character's light level? On the new character I created I appear to have a light level of 1350, in spite of the fact that I just loaded into the first mission last night (and haven't progressed since the first bit of dialogue with the ghost). I could be misreading what the yellow number actually means, but as far as I know I haven't done anything to actually earn anything yet. It just seems like there was some kind of partial transfer or something. Sorry if this is normal and I'm asking very noobish questions. I'm just trying to make sense of the "deep end of the pool" at the moment. Thanks for responding! I do wonder what eligibility requirement I missed, but I guess some things will just remain a mystery. Edit: So after playing some more I see that that yellow number is my "power level," still not super sure why it's already elevated or why my legacy information regarding things like The Black Garden are showing up, but I guess that character didn't transfer for whatever reason. I guess I'll always have my memories of Dinklebot to remind me of what was instead. Thanks again for responding!

As Bungie increases the maximum Power Level and makes adjustments to the game, the minimum Power Level also goes up. Outside of a few very specific circumstances and legacy glitches, your character will start at that minimum Power Level; this happens to everyone. Right now that minimum is 1350, which is why your equipment started there. The value is the current base.
