Back in Destiny 1, 3 weapons were added to the energy weapon slots from Prison of Elders. Lord of Wolves, Dreg’s Promise, and The Queenbreaker’s Bow. Queenbreaker then was classified as a fusion rifle because linear fusion rifles hadn’t existed. Fusion rifles were mainly used in the secondary slot and Queenbreaker felt like it was in a really good spot.
In Destiny 2, Queenbreaker was brought back during Forsaken as a linear fusion rifle. Linear fusion rifles were only considered as power weapons at the time and so that’s where Queenbreaker went. Yes, it was used heavily in Gambit during its debut, but since then, it’s been completely forgotten about. Now, with Arbalest and Lorentz Driver being considered as non-power linear fusion rifles, it doesn’t seem like there’s too big of a necessity to keep Queenbreaker as a power weapon as well.
Maybe if it was reverted to an energy weapon because of Arc 3.0, but that might be too soon for that change. I feel like Queenbreaker was one of my favorite weapons in D2, and now because of its place in D2 and the scarcity of power ammo, as it should be, Queenbreaker still does the damage of an energy weapon, while being in the power weapon slot.
TL:DR- Queenbreaker used to be a ton of fun in D1 by being a secondary weapon, but because it’s now a heavy weapon in D2, it’s almost been completely forgotten about because of its low DPS and being a heavy weapon.
Can Queenbreaker go back to being an energy weapon again?

3 RepliesThis is for the PvP side. I really like the Queenbreakers' bow and it's one of my favorite weapons. Unfortunately I think the Queenbreaker would be too powerful in it's current state if it was a energy weapon. With combat sights the Queenbreaker has 100 aim assist and really low zoom. The charge time is also only 300. Linear fusions are already really strong in PvP and the Queenbreaker would just be a better Arbalest or Lorenz. It's in a really tough spot because if Bungie tones down the stats, I don't really see the point of using it over other kinetic/energy linears. It depends on how Bungie is going to handle it if they move the gun to energy slot.
