I don't consider myself "bad" at PvP, but Destiny definitely makes me feel like I am. I think I remember an update or a quote or something, maybe in a TWAB, that Bungie wanted to refocus PvP to being more focused on gunplay rather than ability spam. I'm not sure what happened to that? I think part of the issue is that all the subclasses are being reworked and it's hard to not make them very powerful, therefore trickling into PvP. Aside from Classy Restoration (GREAT for PvE, but I cannot wait for it to go away for PvP sake), overshields and overpowered exotic effects, initially void but especially solar now, is making the crucible a complete mess.
Example: I played ONE game of trials today and it was against three titans, all void, that would throw down their barricades and shoot over the top with DMT. Fair to say we got obliterated. And after that, I had enough and didn't even want to play another game of Trials.
Abilities, mods, etc. need to be HEAVILY nerfed JUST in PvP. I want more than anything to enjoy some more vanilla gunplay without hunters dodging and healing every couple seconds. Keep everything as is in PvE, that's fine. PvP is so uninviting to new players, including my friend group that absolutely refuse to play PvP and don't play the game very much when content is dry. I think it is fair to say that there is likely a very small margin of casual Destiny players that enjoy the state of PvP right now. And with all that being said, I didn't even touch on inexistent skill-based matchmaking.

Do some abilities need to be pulled back? yes, but I really don't think they should be nerfed in THE game of space magic & guns, not just guns. I do understand that the gunplay in this game feels different then in others, CoD, Battlefield, Borderlands & Darkwatch, they're not the same, so when some mindless punk says "go play CoD," they didn't take the time to think about that. You like your guns, and I like the magic this game provides, I would still say give PvP a "Lightless" mode, there, problem solved for everyone, you would get to enjoy your guns, & I can keep my magic, sound good?
