Unfortunately Bungie does not restore deleted characters or items, so they are gone.
Whether due to accidental deletion or unauthorized account access, Bungie does not recover manually deleted characters or items, and does not replace in-game items that are lost or dismantled.
Bungie does not provide the following services:
* Restoration of deleted characters
* Recovery of dismantled, scrapped, deleted, or otherwise discarded items
* Recovery of mistakenly Infused items
* Recovery of items lost due a Character's Postmaster being full
* Recovery of items lost due to Player Inventories being full
* Restoration of access to items or content gained through game sharing
* Refunding in-game currencies on accidental purchases
* Refunding Silver or transferring Silver between platform accounts, Destiny releases, or inactive accounts in any capacity
* Transferring items or characters between platform accounts or inactive accounts in any capacity

The only way someone would have been able to add to your cross save would be if they could authenticate one of the other accounts you have on cross save. It is highly recommended that you change your passwords on all accounts and enable 2FA if you've not already done so.

Can I at least change my name back? I don't want to be "FurryF4rt" for the rest of my time in bungie. If it's obvious that someone from an unknown IP logged in and changed all this without my consent, can't it just be fixed? Why did this even happen to me, I'm always so careful with security.
-
At present we have only been given one chance to change our names. Bungie may provide us more in the future, and will update us on this through the weekly TWaB posts and their social media outlets.
-
That’s not acceptable. It’s Bungie’s security who failed here. Is there any way for me to contact someone who actually works at bungie and someone who can physically do something?
-
Account security is on the account holder, not Bungie. It is up to you, as the account holder, to properly secure your account to prevent this from happening. Bungie will not make an exception for you regarding your name change, just as they have not made an exception for the myriad of others who have issues with their name being changed to something they do not like.
-
My account was properly secured. There is nothing I could have done to be more secure. How do I contact someone who actually works at bungie? This was clearly a targeted attack on me, and the name “FurryF4rt” is also specifically harmful to me, this is an act of hate. It’s sickening that bungie is okay with that.
-
"As of 1 in the morning EST, someone logged in to my account, linked some unknown PSN, changed my Bungie name and deleted all three of my characters that I have had since Destiny 1." "My account was properly secured." Pick one.
-
It was. They didn't actually log on to my steam, they linked some PSN. I don't know how, because I take net security very seriously.
-
The forums are the support for the game. As the answers you have received above are the official policies provided by Bungie for your specific concerns. Bungie Help accounts may reply if they feel you were not given the correct information. Name changes are currently only once per account, once changed the name will only be changed again if it violates Code of Conduct, in which case the account name will be changed to Guardian#### Account security is completely the responsibility of the player; Bungie has no control or oversight in your platform's security.

But it wasn’t even my platform. It looks like the guy got in through a PSN, but I don’t have a PlayStation. I don’t know how they even linked the PSN to my account, and I can’t even unlink it. I’m not even that against starting over, but I can’t do it with a name like FurryFart, it’s derogatory and it’s discriminatory.
But it wasn’t even my platform. It looks like the guy got in through a PSN, but I don’t have a PlayStation. I don’t know how they even linked the PSN to my account, and I can’t even unlink it
To add a PSN (or any other platform) they first have to have gained access to an account that was linked to your profile before hand. So in your case, you show an xbox and a steam in addition to the psn. One of those accounts was used to log in to Bungie.net and then they were able to add the PSN to the profile. This also gave them the ability to change the bungie name. So, while I can definitely understand your frustration for the situation, there is not much that can be done from Bungie's end to correct the issues. For sake of protecting other items though, I would highly recommend that you change your log in info for your legit accounts and enable 2fa as soon as possible as it is possible one or both of them are still compromised.
-
Doesn't this name violate the terms of service? It's derogatory and inflammatory towards me. This was an act of hate against me and even though my things are gone, if I want to keep playing I'm now marked by this inflammatory name?
-
You can have the name reported for review. Being considered derogatory to the person isnt typically a consideration as it is seen as you named your self that. It would have to be deemed a violation of the code of conduct.
-
I see. Great. How do I remove the PSN from my account? It is still linked and when I try to unlink it, the bar is greyed out and I am unable to do so.
-
You need to deactivate cross save and then unlink it. To do either of those you will need the log in details for the account.
-
It says to deactivate that I must verify that these accounts are mine, but the PSN is not mine. Am I stuck with it forever?
-
correct
-
To deactivate, you must be able to authenticate all linked accounts. You can try working with PSN to gain access to it, but without being able to log in to all linked, you will not be able to remove it.
-
Oh so I can never play destiny again then. Because this is some random person's account that is currently linked to my bungie account. And I can't remove it. PHENOMENAL.
-
A random person who somehow knew your login; I would be a bit more scared of that.
-
And to think, all of this presumably because Ole furryf4rt wanted something in game they couldn't accomplish themselves.
-
Edited by FurryF4rt123: 3/31/2022 5:47:58 PMWhat are you talking about? I have never EVER done an account recovery.
-
Sure. Someone just got bored and decided, "hey, this person should get their stuff deleted. Let me figure out a way to get into this random, specific person's game account that gives me no monetary gain and delete their stuff." That's much more believable. Keep going with that one.
-
I mean I guess I’ve been toxic before. I really don’t know why someone would do this. I’d never do a recovery though. No idea why anyone would do this. This seems like a personal attack against me. Even if someone had my password, which they don’t, why delete everything? Also, I haven’t been rude to you. Why are you being rude to me?
-
I'm not being rude. If you perceive it as such, that's a you problem. I'm being blunt. We see a ridiculous amount of posts a day about this then a look into game history shows playtime where it is clear someone else played for the person. The alternativebeing someone took the time to hack someone'saccount just to delete stuff in a game rather than use that expertise to hack into something useful like a bank account. Occam's razor says you gave someone your account information.
-
Okay but reality says I didn’t. Look at my play history, I never gave anyone anything. I’ve paid for carries before but they are always carries where I play WITH them, and there is no recovery going on.
