Thire, we keep goin’ from here.
The electricity bounces off the barrier without much effect. Which should make sense, as its parimary purpose is a shield.
A few seconds later, it flickers out. It seems SAYU’s already at her limit with holo-barriers, and making one big enough to look like the core would likely drop your defenses, which looked like they wouldn’t hold much longer regardless.

“I’ve got two choices. I either attack the vines directly, or I take the fake core to lure them into a trap. Before I make this decision, I need to know if they can differentiate the fake core from the real one.“
-
“My [core] can’t [move], though… Wouldn’t[they] [know] that?”
-
“They’re pretty much just oversized plants, which hopefully means they aren’t that smart. My guess is that they’ll see the fake core, assume that it’s their objective, and go after it.”
-
SAYU worriedly clasped her hands together. “When I [make] my [copy], my [holo-barrier] will go [down]. You’ve gotta be really [fast]… Where do I [put] it?” Her voice was frought with worry; she likely wasn’t convinced. Still, seems like she was ready to follow your plan.
-
“Put it on the other side of the room. If this fails, be ready.” *Thire takes out one of his last few hydrofluoric grenades, overcharges and prepares to attack the vines*
-
You’ll need to tell me what your specific plan of action is. Thing’ll be rolling quick once that barrier goes down!
-
My plan is to exit the barrier, get as close to the decoy core/vines as possible, detonate the overcharged grenade and tear those vines to shreds.
-
You can’t overcharge the grenades; they aren’t a part of your system, they’re just deadly water balloons.
-
Oh, okay. Save the overcharge for the next attack.
-
With a twinge of hesitation, SAYU creates a large holo-barrier heart on the far side of the room. Doing so promptly overloads her barrier load, and the one sheltering you & the core drops. You spring into action, throwing a hydrofluoric grenade, and it strikes several of the veins. You use your overcharge to cut them down with superhuman speed, but no matter how fast you were, you were only one person, and yoir decoy did little to change the other veins’ courses… They crash and a shivet goes up SAYU’s spine before she vanishes. The core turns bright blue, and a holo-barrier appears, covering it entirely. Then, all is quiet…
-
“Oh, no no no. SAYU, you alright?”
-
SAYU reappeared in front of you, only now her skin was pitch black, and glowing neon lines covered her entire body. The blue hearts in her eyes have been replaced with red skulls. “I-I-I-I ca-ca-can-can’t……!” SAYU said, the words sputtering out of her mouth. “WARNING: Native lifeforms detected. Proceeding with extermination protocols.” SAYU held out her hand, and a large golden trident formed in her grip. She pointed it towards you, and it began to glow.
-
*Thire summons a riot shield and overcharges, bracing for an attack* “SAYU, it’s me, Thire. We’re on the same side, remember?”
-
A bright bolt of light fires off from the trident, smashing into your shield. The bolt explided, throwing you back and shattering your shield into pieces.
Some music if you want it. You’ll have to hang onto the link yourself, though; I’ll forget to post it. https://youtu.be/LJfFlR5CRdc
“All natural lifeforms must be exterminated.” SAYU said. “This includes [Target: Thire]. Preparing for extermination.” With a swish of her hand, a bubble of flashing rainbow water appeared in front of her, and she smacks it towards you with her fin!
-
“I’m gonna have to knock some sense into you. I’m sorry.” *Thire kicks off a wall with a jump boost to avoid the wave, then aims an overcharged punch at SAYU while landing*
-
Your punch goes straight through SAYU’s body, causing her to briefly flicker, but no more than that. With you now in close range, she swings her trident towards you like a baseball bat!
-
*Thire swings his blade the parry her attack, then attempts to grab the trident*
-
You knock it out of the way, and successfully manage to grab the handle, but SAYU quickly reacts, lifting you off the ground with surprising strength, and swinging you overhead! A heart-shaped portal opens up on the ground, with SAYU seemingly trying to throw you into it!
-
*Thire kicks SAYU’s face, then jump boosts off of it*
-
Your kick lands, and SAYU reels backwards from the blow… Except, you then realize she’s a hologram, and there’s no solid surface for you to leap off of, and you start falling towards the portal, independent of SAYU’s attack!
-
*Thire summons a shotgun and fires it, trying to use the kick of the gun to launch himself away from the portal*
-
The recoil knocks you just barely out of the way, and you land on the edge of the floor, right next to the portal. SAYU stabs her trident into the ground, and it glows bright white, before she starts dragging it along the ground, heading straight for you!
-
“C’mon, SAYU. You gotta come to your senses.” *Thire runs back, loads his left arm into the rocket launcher and fires*
-
Sorry, I wasn’t clear enough; you landed on your back, not your feet. In order to run, you’d have to scramble to yor feet, first, which you can still do if you’d like, but it would take a moment. Might be too slow to dodge.
-
Ok, just change the movement part to getting up and moving out of the way (if possible).
