What if all of the significant story mission from D1 and D2 were put together into a completely separate linear campaign game, like the Master Chief collection but for Destiny? It wouldn’t be live service and It wouldn’t have to be everything, only the key details and missions, maybe some additional narrative scenes, preset load outs, etc. All I know is that I’d hate to be a new light in 2022 trying to figure out why Oryx was such a big deal.
Maybe make it an additional download that comes free with a purchase of any of the DLCs. I think something along those lines would be way better than the current “New Light” quest.

3 RepliesI've said this before for D2, especially with the sheer amount of content that's been pulled from the game since the DCV was introduced, just ends up being so inaccessible to new players

3 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 1/3/2022 2:32:59 PMThe thought of playing any of the campaign missions one more time makes me ill, but I can see the benefit for a new player. Still, playing them all in a row will just make how repetitive they are from expansion to expansion that much more obvious. It was tolerable back then because of the delay between releases, but all at once? Yikes. Destiny’s vanilla campaign is still the peak campaign mission experience. Out of all the expansions, I remember those first missions most fondly. To this day The Last Array still gets my adrenaline going.

At the very least they should make a simple comic the recaps the event of D1, dlcs, and seasons once they've ended and make it accessible under the timeline node in the upper left hand corner of the directory

1 ReplySupposedly WQ will have a full campaign. We will see, I’m doubtful.

6 RepliesConsidering the high volume of casual players, don't think this will work. D1 required a LOT of grinding, which casuals are not keen on. Any New Light worth their salt can just YouTube any of the thousands of videos that explain D1 lore, but then again, these are the same..."people" who run around using Pikes for public events that I want to blow up the second they step off

I like the idea of a seperate campaign thing but all the campaigns we’ve got aren’t that memorable id like to see them do a full on campaign with unique level design. Maybe an anthology where you play as different characters from the first collapse to the creation of the city. The last mission could be the battle of 6 fronts it would be dope I’ve always thought about that.

an entire spin off game dedicated to recapping the past six years of story, gameplay and events in the lore could be a valuable and profitable business venture for bungie.

Edited by G4LL0WGL455: 1/2/2022 5:00:01 PMGreat idea 👍! Missions should be replay able
-
This would unfortunately involve Bungie actually caring about preserving the game’s content and caring about new players experiencing the story Which is something they’ve exhibited no interest in doing
-
Yah more big brained ideas for bungie to reskin, recycle and resell old content. You should work for bungie with thinking like this.
-
That would be very cool (especially as I never played D1), but Bungie can't even release a expansion pack on time, they'd have to get another studio to make it. Maybe they can afford it, maybe it would be amazing, but I'm guessing it's not something they're interested in atm.

8 RepliesEdited by A KOOL POP TART: 1/2/2022 7:16:18 PMSee, the difference between Destiny and Halo from a narrative standpoint is that the Halo campaigns are actually fun.
-
6 RepliesIt would need all the planets and it would be 200gb in size. These Devs can't make 1 PvP map, this is never happening
-
That would definitely be cool if it were possible somehow. I started at the end of D1 so the way that story progressed is somewhat mysterious to me other than what I've read about it and coming on here to see what people were complaining about at the time.
