whittle out what the characters should be like, flaws, strengths, pasts that sort of things
spend more time world building, set magic rules. you could do it through small training lessons where someone explains stuff to “protagonist”
If you’re meaning spend more time with that behind the scenes, on my end, no worries, I already did.
If you mean stop and explain it all to the reader, then;
A. I’m not just gonna stop & exposition dump it all. Their backstories & whatnot will be expanded when it’s appropriate. For now, you have the basica of each character & where they came from.
B. It’s a sequel, so a lot of the world & magic system is already built. Though, that’s also best introduced over time, not dumped at the beginning.
I suppose I should specify, I have most of this plot hammered out. I only need a chapter or so to help keep the beginning from feeling rushed.
