Note: Read before joining.
Notice 1: This RP is watched over by the Takamagahara System. If you perform any action that is considered to be god-modding, or otherwise not allowed, you will be issued a warning, and the T3 will rewrite time to undo your actions. Repeated warnings may get you banned from the RP. Remember to play nice!
Notice 2: In order to participate in this RP your character cannot survive underwater. Whether it's from the extreme pressure, the lack of air, or both, leaving the city outside of official transport is not survivable.
Notice 3: This is a pseudo shared RP, and talking with other players is allowed. However, to keep things organized, please do not just hop into another player's comment chain and start chatting them up. Instead, tell me you want to talk with them, and I will create a separate comment chain for the convo.
You will go through most events in the RP alone, but Key Encounters will be shared.
Notice 4: You can join this part without participating in the previous parts; I can provide you with a summary.
If you have any questions, please contact your local RP admin! (that's me!)
"So, now we know." Kokonoe said, leaning over a table. You, and most of the others who were attacked had been gathered up here. "That's why Aubrey wants to take out my PFD Units. Somehow, I guess she can control them. And as I'm sure everyone's noticed, they're not a threat to be taken lightly."
"We won't need to worry about that." Rho said. "Because I'm going to kill her. It was bad enough that she was killing my sisters, but controlling them like this? Turning them into.. Whatever that was. She crossed a line. And she's going to regret it."
"You're staying with us. As far as we know, she's only able to control dead PFDs, not live ones, and not dead humans. Our best bet, then, is to keep the PFDs off the front lines."
"You want me to do nothing!?"
"Precisely."
"How can you expect me to do nothing when-"
A hologram of SAYU appeared next to Kokonoe. "Hello, everyone, my name is SAYU!"
Kokonoe looked at the thing with an annoyed look on her face. "Aifos, what is your mermaid doing here?"
Aifos shrugged.
"I've been issued an important city wide broadcast from [Moderator: Kokonoe]!" SAYU said, happily.
"I never issued a broadcast.."
The SAYU hologram vanished, and in its place was one of Aubrey. "Hello there, citizens of Aria. As I'm sure you're aware, there is a murderer left loose on the streets, and our glorious leaders have come to the conclusion that the best course of action to deal with this threat is to lock you all up down here with them. You must be terrified, but I want you to know that you don't need to be. I am here to protect you, and under my protection, you have nothing to fear.
This situation is no longer in the hands of Aifos and Kokonoe, I will be taking over from here My name is Venus, and I am a goddess of the Divine Trinity. I will protect you from this fiend prowling the streets. I will succeed where Aifos and Kokonoe have failed, and bring them to justice. I have brought many brave soldiers down from the surface, and they will save us all, just as my mother, the goddess Lamia, will save the world.
And Aifos, if you're listening and haven't already abandoned us down here, let's not make this difficult on us, hm? Get in my way, and we'll stop you along with this murderer." Aubrey's hologram vanished, and SAYU reappeared.
"Thank you for listening to this SAYU-Broadcast! Bye bye!" The hologram vanished.
"..Venus..? That's got to be a bluff, right?" Aifos asked, turning to Kokonoe. "She can't actually be Venus--Venus is dead!"
Kokonoe closed her eyes, thinking for a moment with a silent look of concern on her face. "Whether it's true or not, our goal is the same. We'll find her, and put an end to all of this. I doubt she's going to be in the gardens again, so we'll have to fan out and find where she's hiding ourselves."
Joshua looked over at you, with a smirk on his face, twirling a bracelet around his finger. "Be careful out there, detective. If she really is, Venus, then she's just thrown her cover out into the open. That means I doubt she'll be holding back if you fight her."
It's up to you where you want to explore in the city, though if you find yourself lost, you can always ask for a hint. I'll do my best to explain the possible routes from room to room, but I also have a map that should be linked above (thank you, Red!), so feel free to ask for that whenever you need it. Currently you are in the Observation Deck, and there is only on exit, leading to the Grand Hall.
Feel free to chat with everyone before you leave. The people in the room are;
Aifos, Kokonoe, Lambda, Rho, Theta, Tager, Fukua, and Joshua.
186 RepliesKey Encounter
This is a Key Encounter. There will be at least one per part. Your actions during these sections will determine the outcome of the story. Key Encounters are shared by everyone, so in order to keep one person from hogging all the Key Choices, everyone will be assigned a d20 roll. Whoever gets the highest (or the first person to get 20) will be the one to make a choice as to what happens. On your part, just list what you want to do, and I'll take it from there. Due to the nature of Key Encounters, I will have to control some actions for you, but I will try to keep that to a minimum.
Your subspace portal opens up to the Grand Hall, and then closes behind you. Immediately you can tell something happened; the entire place looks like a warzone. Soon, you see a group of soldiers rounding up some of the cultists, and throwing them into a group of people. Most of the people were wearing the holy armor that Venus had given to them, but there were several that seemed to be dressed in regular clothing. The soldiers that were gathering them all up were wearing a familiar suit of armor, with the Greek letter Rho marked on its chest. And soon enough, you see Rho herself, standing at the end of the hall, giving the soldiers orders. Only a few seconds after you arrive, Aifos flies into the room, and immediately confronts Rho. "Rho, what are you doing!?" He yells. "What you and Kokonoe are too afraid to do! These people are all sympathizers with Venus--they're traitors, and spies! I'm doing what needs to be done, and taking care of them!" "You can't just go on a witch hunt, and get rid of anyone you think is working with Venus--and besides, most of these people don't know who she really is! She tricked them into joining her; we can't punish them just for being manipulated!" "What do you think is going to happen if we let them go!? You think they're just going to have a change of heart, and betray their beloved goddess? We need to deal with this threat completely, and entirely, if we don't, then this city is going to fall apart!" She pointed her rifle at Aifos. "And if you're siding with them, then as far as I'm concerned, you're siding with Venus! I'm not going to stand by and let my sisters get killed, just so you can take some bullsh** arbitrary high ground!" Aifos activated his Murakumo in response, and eight floating swords appeared on his back. "I don't want to fight you, but I'm not going to stand by and let people get hurt! We're dealing with Venus--but this is just chaos!" A few of Rho's soldiers point their guns at Aifos as well, while a few others keep their guns trained on the cultists. Most of them seemed conflicted, however, not sure whether to actually take up arms against Aifos or not. For now, things seem to be at a standstill, perhaps this would be a good time to intervene..
A showdown! Rho has rounded up a group of Venus' followers and sympathizers, and threatens to "take care" of them! Whether she's going to kill them, or simply lock them up, isn't clear. She believes that action against Venus and her followers needs to be quick, and complete--taking down anyone who might even show a hint of sympathy for Venus before they can get a foothold. Aifos believes these people are being tricked by Venus into thinking her cause is just--as most of her followers are, and that they shouldn't be punished for being manipulated! He's making efforts to push back the threat of her more violent followers, but that going on a witch hunt to find them all is causing more harm than good. Tensions are too high to try and talk them down, you have to do something! Do you try to take one of them down? Stand between them before they come to blows? Try to come to a compromise? Just let it play out? Note: Just because Aifos is my "avatar character", don't take that to mean he's definitely right here. If you think Rho's doing what needs to be done, then feel free to side with her. The point of a Key Encounter is to give you a choice; there's no definitive "right answer".
