My favorite metroidvania power up is the 'quit game' power.

Well it’s not exactly a powerup, but save & quit warping is a legitimate strategy. Especially if you’re speedrunning, or just needed to go on a little side path for some obscure collectible. It can be such a drag to walk all the way back to your last checkpoint. Shout out to Ender Lilies, once again being amazing at absolutely everything, and just giving you a “Return to Respite” option in the pause menu.
Any wall climb ability in particular you like? My favorite is in Sundered. You turn into a spooky eldritch shadow monster, and climb up the wall with your many spooky shadow arms, like a freaky as hell spider man.
generally the wall jump technique
-
No specific wall jump ability, though? They can vary pretty wildly in how they work.
-
none specifically, im not a huge player of metroidvania
-
Fair enough. Apparently nobody here is anymore. I guess they all got scared off. >.>

I've played a few. I just like from soft games better
-
Soft games? I’m not familiar with the term.
-
From soft? From software, makers of bloodborne, dark souls, sekiro etc
-
Oh, I didn’t see the “from”. I mean, I really love FromSoft’s games, too, but I don’t see why loving their games would impact whether or not you like Metroidvanias.
-
I prefer the style of from very much.
-
I mean, sure, but y’know, applies & oranges and whatnot. Most Metroidvanias aren’t very similar to FromSoft games, so it feels like a random comparison. Unless you’re talking about Hollow Knight specifically or something. There are a couple that definitely feel like they’ve got a bit of a Souls feel to them.
