Spoilers inside. Did we really just witness this?

Alright, so we've been designated Crow's babysitter, saw that coming, but the real issue here is that the theme of this season is don't let Crow talk to Savathûn, so naturally we knew it would happen. Now there's the story side of it. We come to gameplay... Mara was adamant to watch him. There's one way into her chambers, through the portal and its just a big, basically empty, cathedral-like room, with all kinds of sound carry with those arches, domes, metal, and rock. You mean to tell me, you just put it in the story that given the physical space. So😂😂😂 Crow just got in by walking through H.E.L.M., walked right past Mara's guards outside her entrance, then Mara, then her Techeuns, then all the way back to Savathûn sitting in the wide open everywhere, in a place where it would be impossible not to notice, or overhear the conversation taking place, with all the time in the world to stop it before the end result? Really? Come on. This kind of stuff kills story. I hope its addressed that Mara is really, yet another enemy hiding in plain sight, potentially utilizing the capture of Savathûn as a means to gain her ultimate power, because that would explain this huge story hole here, but if it doesn't end up playing out that way? Man, that is severely distracting from the story side of things. Its hilarious, and I can't stop laughing, but this is a huge, very noticeable thing here. Hopefully for a reason.

  • Maybe he did just storm past them all. Made them put up or shut up, either let him through or actually do something to stop him. I doubt Mara would actually let Petra kill him permanently a second time, so it's either let him through or else wait for him to sneak in his own way and be all the more angry. Mara's problem has always been trying to control her brother's fate, and failing every time.

  • Another story hole is Mara was killed by Oryx. So we talk about Oryx in D2 but we just pretend she isn’t dead?

It was confusing that he got to Savathun. How ever the fact that many things happen in this game and we mostly only witness the parts our character actually sees is very realistic.

https://www.shmoop.com/literature-glossary/suspension-of-disbelief.html You are playing a game where people use magic and are resurrected from the DEAD multiple times per day....and you're going to get stuck on THAT? Crow is a Hunter. He can probably go invisible or even teleport of a short distance. Also Savathun probably isn't as helpless inside that crystal as she wants us to think, and has magic of her own (The Witch Queen?!?!?) Bottomline is the space is set up like that for the ease and convenience of game play. But in a game of magic, the notion that there aren't ways to get past Mara is silly. Hell, The Entire Battle of Saturn (From Mara's perspective) was a way to break INTO Oryx's throne world without his being aware of it.

                • Yep that’s what I think too, what in the hell is happening here?? The quest say “ find crow in mara’s chamber “ something like that, and I thought we are witnessing that crow asking Mara to let him talking to savathun and somehow I couldn’t find him,and I’m thinking maybe my game glitch or something I got to helm and Mara’s chamber back and forth couple times and then I go to see savathun and somehow crow can pass Mara and her techeun and with no explanation that he can talk to savathun, whoever made this stupid plot hole and the quality control of this game need to get slap in face for making such super lame story,is this writer a kids in first grade, holy hell

It all gets even more hilarious when ya realize that it’s completely astounding how Crow has even managed to evade the information that he used to be Uldren before this point. You’re tellin’ me that outta all the Guardians that physically abused him when they saw his face that not one of them eked out any info at all on why Crow is getting killed on sight and then also coming back to life to get killed again? And that not one of these Guardians reported that “Uldren” is dying and walkin’ around again? Hell, not even try to capture him? See, this is what happens when ya make -blam!- up as ya along. Pacing, common sense, consistency and virtually anything that makes a good story was screwed with this franchise from the start anyway.

                    • I mean considering the guy has existed in two places at once for a long time now who knows he just teleports instantly between the Helm and Spider's place. I find it funny Bungie is just like meh whatever two Crows.

                        • I thought the same thing, but interpreted it as being something mara actually wanted to happen. She seems like she has been wanting uldren back, so perhaps part of her deal with savathun was to restore crows memory to essentially bring back uldren. It bugged me from the start that mara agreed to help savathun while getting essentially nothing in return (why would mara care THAT much about osiris?). If part of her deal with savathun was to return her brothers memories then all of a sudden mara's actions make WAY more sense.

                          • The question it opens up for me is, is there an entity out there that knows our past and can show it to us? What if the Traveler is not as pure of intention as we think and it purposely holds it back from us? I'm not deep in the lore, but to me that was the bigger implication of what happened this week. I mean I know that some of the first risen used the light for bad, so it's not pure in itself. I'm getting this whole light and dark isn't inherently good or evil, it's up to us to each of us to decide how to use it vibe for how this story ends.
