Concerns About Player Discrimination Against Hunters

So, I'll just start off by saying that I've played Destiny 2 for about 2-3 years now. And I love the game. I have all three main classes, but I'm a huge fan of the Hunter classes. Now before I continue, I want to add that this is not me complaining or wanting Bungie to nerf an ability or class. No. I hate the players that would demand nerfs instead of doing as we Guardians should and adapt to situations. I've seen countless videos of people still complaining about Stasis up to the present day, and we're coming on the anniversary of Beyond Light. I don't want anything being nerfed. I want this class to be buffed. Allow me to explain. First off, I'll address the big thing. One voice isn't going to be enough to actually make any difference, but at the exact same time, something needs to be said. And action, starts with words. So relatively recently it came to my attention, through a Reddit clip on r/Destiny2 titled "Why are people like this?" (Look up that quote after accessing the Destiny 2 subreddit to see the post itself). I'll start there.. The clip begins with the player, a Hunter, having helped complete a part of the Raid, or the entire Raid. I believe it was the Vault of Glass. And just when they were about to take their reward, and obtain the coveted loot that we all want, he was kicked from the team. And though there was no audio, if the player had been disrespectful to his fireteam, I find it difficult to believe that they would wait until the end of that part of the Raid to boot him, when they should've done it immediately. It's also worth mentioning that I do not know any of the people involved, nor do I know whether or not he reached out to Bungie about this issue. This was already a concerning issue in my opinion, but initially I chalked it up to toxic players. But recently my friend, name withheld for privacy, who plays every class equally, told me that those incidents had been going on for a while. It seems that Hunters are apparently disliked by Raid groups and some Trials teams because they believe that Hunters don't "bring anything to the table". They don't have instant kill melees in pvp, their Supers aren't effective (now (and I was witness to this one) in PVP, it takes two shots from the Golden Gun, the supposedly instant kill hand cannon Super that offers no added shields or health for the user, to kill a single Guardian. And a Resilience build should not alter the fact that a Golden Gun should be an instant kill. It's a Super. They aren't meant to be tanks, meaning they can't take as much damage before going down and their abilities aren't as damaging. The Swarm Grenade in particular is unable to penetrate a Guardian's shield, for instance, and now the damage is lackluster in PvE. As for Raids? Well, apparently there are groups that will flat out kick you if you play as a Hunter. Idk if this is Guided Game or not but nonetheless this is a very serious issue, and honestly I think, and I'm certain that Bungie would agree that this behavior is absolutely unacceptable. I'm aware such things are a bannable offense already, but it doesn't help the fact that the Hunter class was nerfed into the ground, and for no real reason when compared to it's Titan and Warlock counter parts. Save for the Golden Gun, Void Blades, and Arcstrider classes, Hunters have limited mobility with their supers, and the Golden gun offers no protection (added health/defense) from enemy fire. The Blade Barrage, Silence and Squall, and Shadowshot and Moebius Quiver all either limit mobility while being used, or render you stationary to use them, and they are once off Supers. Not to mention void melees do next to nothing but that's besides the point and it can be argued that they aren't supposed to, because they're smoke bombs. Now compare that to Titans that can run around while cloaked in Arc or Stasis, or can run around carrying a flaming hammer that can either be thrown or can send waves of fire that will chase you down. Or they can run around with a Void shield that ricochets off of everything and is more or less an instant kill if it hits you. Oh and each of these Supers also require more shots to take the user down. Warlocks are only slightly better, with them actually having a stationary Arc Super. Unless they opt to become Darth Sidious from Star Wars, and chase people down while also cloaked in electricity. Alternatively they can take to the air with a flaming sword and strike down anything that dares to even enter their line of sight. Or a Nova Bomb. I won't mention Shadebinders because they also got nerfed into the ground. So this is the problem. I don't know why Hunters have been nerfed so much, when their Supers aren't nearly as unfair as the other classes. And this isn't even from a pvp standpoint. I don't actively enjoy playing Crucible and only really do so for quests and the like. I prefer PvE. Why waste ammo against Guardians when there's aliens that need shooting? The problem is that the issues in PvP make PvE less fun, because the repercussions leak into it. But why did the Hunters get nerfed? Well, I don't really know. The class is now extremely underwhelming and it's really difficult or impossible to see how at any point the entire class was brokenly powerful, so I'd be amazed if that was the only reason, especially when compared to the Titan and Warlock. Honestly prior to Stasis it seemed that Hunters were a pretty fair class to play. Heck even the Reaper subclass is now the weakest stasis subclass and there's absolutely no reason for it. So what exactly do I hope to gain from this? Well, justice for the class. Simply put, it's not fair to say that every time a Hunter is kicked from a raid is because of discrimination. No, sometimes the player can be toxic and derogatory towards their teammates, and it's perfectly understandable to kick them from the fireteam as punishment. Moreover I'm aware that not everyone will discriminate against Hunters in Raids, so there's that as well. And I don't intend to want to have the other classes nerfed, because then that's going to cause even more problems and make the game less fun. So I don't want the other classes to be nerfed and I don't want people banned, so what am I after? Simple. A buff. A big one for the Hunter Classes exclusively. Re-even the playing field for Hunters. And if any other players want to actively complain about that, then they should be told that the constantly nerfing a problem isn't the solution. Now this next and final point could be used against me, but I'll say it and my counter. We're Guardians. The odds are always stacked against us and absolutely nothing is really fair in this universe. We have to fight near infinite numbers of robots, nightmare insects that apparently watched way too much dbz (kidding) and created Sword Logic, and a bunch of evil corrupted space ghosts that we barely understand, just to name a few. But we adapt and we win. That's how Guardians should act. The last thing Humanity, the Vanguard, and we Guardians need is to constantly turn on each other because of k/d ratios in the Crucible, especially if it lowers the chances of victory against the dark (more than they are, currently to be fair), and if it makes the game less fun for a good portion of the fanbase (on the gamer side). Simple as that. Thanks for reading and have a good day. And if you're a Hunter and you have been discriminated against by other players because you're a Hunter, or if you're frustrated at how unfair PvP is for a Hunter, then please leave your statement here in this forum. One voice may not change anything, but a chorus of voices will. [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate. • The Reason Hunters got nerfed was they brought More Damage then the other 2. 999,999 From 1 Golden Gun shot......a bit PVE OP? Untill Well of Radiance, Warlocks were kicked from Raids, or was told to switch to Hunter for Damage. Even Titans if it was Argo as that Burn was ineffective as well....you needed to tap him with it. He was out of Reach. No one should be kicked purely on class choice like in Outrider's. Yet I highly doubt it's as bad. Some of though cases, you even said yourself, it's probably purely on the person's Attitude ect, that they get booted. I had to kick 3 from My Lfg because they were Insulating My clan mates. I hate that.
