I'm experiencing issues hearing other fireteam members when doing a cross-play voice chat. I am on a PC and plying with 2 others which 1 is using a PS5 and another using PC. They both can hear each other and can also hear me. I cannot hear them. I have ensured i have enabled the voice chat and defaulted the voice settings. I have also uninstalled Destiny 2 and re-installed it. Can anyone advise any other steps i should try?

1 ReplyAre you guys all playing with gamepass ultimate on PC?

1 ReplyFor everyone still having this issue. I also had this and I tried everything ( as stated here https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/260392869?sort=0&page=0 ) The solution is to make sure all cross-play accounts have the audio settings chat to On(Default). I believe it is only the PSN account, as that would be for most of us, the main account. Try logging in on PS and reset the in game Audio Settings.

2 RepliesI too am having this issue. People can hear me cross platform, however I cannot hear them. I have played on xbox and playstation in the past, however I only play on PC now. Have reset my sound settings, have set default devices appropriately, and have had this issue persist from windows 10 to windows 11, problem existed on a fresh install with all drivers up to date. I am confident this is a Bungie issue.

6 RepliesI had the same problem and just figured it out. Destiny is putting voice chat out to the wrong output. In my case, it was out HDMI to my monitor with no speakers. I only figured it out by disabling the sound to that output in the device. * right-click on the speaker icon in your toolbar, select Sounds * select the Playback tab and look for outputs are connected but you don't use (like monitors connected by HDMI or speakers on your controller) and disable them. I mention the controller because my PS5 controller ran out of juice near the end of a raid. I quick plugged it in and promptly lost all sound and comms as the game switched to the speaker and mic in the controller. Hope this fixes your problem too. Good hunting!

thank you to @CoolUsername321 as he posted the below - massive thank and such a silly option. "I solved the problem after someone posted about it on reddit. In windows, right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar > sounds > playback tab > right click on your preferred playback device > 'Set as Default Communication Device' Restart Destiny 2 client and check. Works for me after doing the same and facing same issue as OP."

1 ReplyUpdate: I tested Geforce Experience on my PC to run the same test with my friend on the PS5 and the voice chat works so i can rule out its the account. It does look likes its the PC and over the weekend i will be re-installing windows as something isn't right. I cannot work it out whether its a driver issue as i can hear voice on discord.

I am having the same issue. I am on PC but cannot hear other people in my fireteam, but they can hear me. Two friends play on PC and one on PS5. Their voice chat works where they can hear and talk to each other.

I’m having the same issue, but on Xbox series S to PlayStation. It works for some of my Xbox friends, but not for me.

I just made a post about this as well. I can see my fireteam talking but can't hear them, they can hear me though. We ran VOG with all my console clan mates in discord on their phones, with audio coming from their TVs, not ideal!

Hi, I'm having the same issue. I've tried all the suggestions from reddit and elsewhere (including installing on PC and linking with PS5 just so I could validate the settings). Hope they are investigating a solution as the rest of cross play is working great, for me at least.

Reset to default has not worked for me. I’m on PC. PS5 and Xbox can hear me but I can not hear them.

1 ReplyGo into settings and hit "Reset to Default" on the sound screen

2 RepliesIt does not work for me either. My friend on PC can hear them and talk to the friends on PS5 and PC but I can only speak to them. I am unable to hear them. I am not sure but I am using a router that is provided by my apartment building which is being shared by many users. Possibly over 50 users. Is this your case as well?

1 ReplySame. I get the mic icon to show up, but no sound. Can hear game and voice works in discord. Hoping to hear a solution.

1 ReplyI don’t think you can party chat when In crossplay… I couldn’t find a way to even send an invite..
