My 2 cents:
There are several pages with system requirements for Destiny 2 with Windows 7 supporting:
1. Steam Store - Windows® 7 / Windows® 8.1 / Windows® 10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
2. Bungie Help PC Guide - Windows 7 64-bit or Windows 8.1 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit (Recommended)
3. Bungie Help PC System Requirements - Windows 7 64-bit or Windows 8.1 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit (Recommended)
Are Bungie members alive to the dangers of misrepresenting facts?
What about ensure that documents and all forms of pre-contract communications are accurate, and that they are kept accurate and up-to-date on an ongoing basis?

I hammered them about Win7 last year when they had the silly problem that kept cutscenes from playing, and kept pointing fingers at users' systems as being the culprit. They didn't seem to care then, and probably don't now.

The game is still compatible with Windows 7/8. A temporary glitch doesn't change that. Calm down.
-
People are worried that it's not gonna get fixed, and they'll just say we'll have to upgrade, we'd be calmer if they kept us in the loop.
-
The problem with that is, for them to comment, it creates and sets an implied expectation. Something they don't want to do if they are still investigating the cause and can't plan a fix yet. Setting an expectation and not meeting it would be a worse firestorm than declining to comment in the interim, especially for shareholders. It would piss off even those that aren't affected.

I don't think they can just tell us to upgrade. At the time of S15 release, Win 7 was supported OS. There were never any indications prior the update that Win 7 won't be supported anymore. They can't just cut that part of the player base off. But I agree, they should keep us in the loop.
