Restricting Trials to annual expansion owners is going to make the game pay to win

Rethink Beyond Light/Witch Queen requirement to play trials

Leave the annual expansion ownership requirement

The recent trials changes are mostly convenient improvements, however, the change to require players to own the annual expansion (beyond light right now) is unrealistic, and adds a hefty pay wall to some of the best loot in the game (potential pay to win). Although the intent behind it (to stop cheaters spamming free accounts in trials) is great, this is an extreme method of doing so. More specifically, the console community has a minuscule amount of cheaters, and I personally have run into no cheaters in over 7 years of Destiny. Hence, this makes the requirement to play trials a flat out $30 pay wall that has no purpose besides limiting the PVP console community. I believe the best course of action is to remove this paywall entirely (certainly on console and potentially on PC), and replace it with a free, extremely hard-to-acquire alternative method of access to trials. After all, Trials is the pinnacle endgame PVP activity, and should be quite difficult to get into regardless. Whether the annual expansion paywall is replaced with a requirement of being at max power level, or a high season/character level (similarly to Rainbow Six Siege), the changes to access to trials need to be revisited to truly open the playing field, rather than restrict it.
