i mean, what is there to discuss? bungie states it runs on win7, steamstorepage states it runs on win7 and everywhere you can buy the game/DLC it states it runs on win7 xD
this is a critical point of buying for people with win7 and they get the wrong impression...
ofc bungie has to act and yes, they do it very poorly under current circumstances, which are also their own fault of obvisiouly failed QA testing!

Edited by Noobie Noobcakes: 8/26/2021 5:55:44 AMIf they said that not knowing that there were problems, then they are so -blam!- utterly pathetically incompetent that they make Steam asset-flippers the likes of Digital Homicide (remember them and Jim Sterling?) look like the epitome of professionalism, efficiency, and institutional probity. If they said that --and moreover, continue to keep saying it AFAIK-- and did know that there were problems, and still took our money, then that's deliberate misrepresentation. I begin to suspect that it's the latter, in which case I would very much like to participate in the class-action that destroys these scumbags (we used to put people in prison for crap like this, but this is all-digital "gaming-as-service" post 2010 innit). If you can still get a refund, then I suggest you do so sharpish, but regardless: Uninstall, and never let a single byte from this washed up has-been turd of a developer darken your device/-es again.
The Bungie that gave us HALO is like the BioWare that gave us the Mass Effect trilogy or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Long, long gone and replaced by the worst kinds of snakes and corrupt company weasels shat out from the bowels of what this industry is now.
It's what I've done, and what everyone else should do IMHO. And for the love of -blam!- God/C'thu'lu/FSM/Whomever, after 10+ years of this ongoing industry wide scam:
STOP GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY WHENEVER THEY SAY YOU SHOULD, JUST BECAUSE THEY "PROMISE" SOMETHING AWESOME (TM)
We've all seen plenty of what those "promises" are worth over the last 10-15 years, now haven't we?

Working in software, I simply cannot believe that this was missed from a support issue. Yes, some issues do get past QA, however something like this is more of an ROI thingy. They knew ahead of time they were ending support for Windows 7, and needed to gauge how much of a fallout this would have. If there is enough noise, they might provide a resolution. However, if the fallout does not warrant resources being directed to a resolution, then the inevitable response will be "We at Bungie, blah blah blah and after detailed analysis have decided that we can no longer support Windows 7 moving forward blah blah blah, and, here's some cake for your troubles".

Sounds like a very good reason to MAKE A LOT OF NOISE. So let's MAKE A LOT OF NOISE.

On the upside, we now have 2 replies from Bungie that they're at least working on it, as well as clear recognition in the Known Issues thread. That is progress. It's not the progress that gets us back to playing Destiny, but it should at least be a step towards it. More reports of specific pass/fail situations might help speed up finding the bug.

Edited by hαnƒcap: 8/25/2021 7:50:21 PMwell... the missing file is a win10 file xD as i mentioned before on reddit and the other big thread, it has nothing to do with battleye since, battleye works fine with other games! my theorie is they simply forgot win7 support with different DLLs. Hopefully this gets solved asap! waiting 6 months to be able to play, isnt the right way to treat people with your product! im saying this, because the "simple" fix for 3fps cinematics isnt rocketscience... yet it isnt fixed since 1 year! also companies telling me they work on something and blabla... i simply dont buy! they would say whatever they want to calm down people! its nothing new and happens all the time! i mean, there is now an anti-cheat in a peer2peer game xD if you watch youtube, you will see fresh uploaded cheater videos :DDD yet bungie tells people whatever they want to hear, if its correct doesnt matter in any way... also bungie has pulled off enough strange decisions and promises, which never worked out...

No, that file is in Windows SysWOW64 folder on windows 7. For some reason it’s not acknowledged in Battleye if it must be acknowledged at all or it may be Battleye is missing some critical files. Dunno.
