Hello. Thanks for your report. We update our known issue thread daily and haven't yet done so today due to the issues we faced at launch yesterday. We've already reached out to BattlEye and neither they nor us believe this is an issue caused by their service. Rest assured that we're actively investigating this issue to determine the cause and how it can be solved. EDIT: To clarify, based on the comments, we believe this issue is related to something Bungie changed in our builds for this release. UPDATE 2: We've confirmed that a change we made in our builds for safety against buffer overruns is the cause of this issue. We are figuring out how to best fix this issue.

  • Bungie, It has now been 24 hours since you began investigating a catastrophic failure. Do you have any news for us? Because right now this is going the route the FPS problem did where the post slowly slides down the page until you forget about it. Your "Some users can't start the game" update is no longer very reassuring three days later. Please provide an update ASAP. Some more detail than "we are investigating" is now required. It is too long without serious recognition.

  • Hi Bungie! For those experiencing the issue "bad_module_info" in Event Viewer and Destiny crashing, I believe it is a software conflict with Samsung Magician v3.6 running in the background. A few people have reported that they are indeed running a Samsung SSD and Magician. Can you poll those experiencing the issue to ask if they are running Samsung Magician? If they are, advise attempting to exit it.

  • Try exiting Samsung Magician while playing Destiny and see if it still crashes. Please reply and let us know if it still crashes

  • My OS is on the Samsung SSD. I am not sure if the Samsung Magician is running during a normal operation. I will verify.Thanks.

  • I can tell you for sure I am not running Samsung Magician. So that is not a contributing factor (at least to the error from the original post on my end.)

    From some research, in some cases, the "bad_module_info" error is being cause by Samsung Magician v3.6 and is not limited to Destiny or games. In Event Viewer, is that the error you have? Do you have a Samsung SSD?

  • Three days later and still nothing. I appreciate the fact you are making some effort to eliminate the cheaters, because honestly it appeared there were more cheaters than legitimate players. But those of us legitimate players are now three days after release of the new season and we can't even launch it, let alone play. Please tell us you will be fixing it soon, or at the very least give us daily updates so we know you're still working on this problem.

  • I am unable to edit the original posting to update it. Today's hotfix did not appear to fix the problem for anyone, either. [u][b]Bungie, can we get a daily update from Bungie on this somewhere, with acknowledgement that the hotfix didn't fix it? Is any progress being made? Is there any sort of ETA on a fix? Even if it's just a "won't be fixed today" or "won't be fixed before next week?" If people knew when to check back, that might make things more tolerable.[/b][/u]

  • I don't like ANYTHING that you reset the game by taking away the light in the game so that we have to win it again, but this time you have shown off if I don't play just PVP, why so much anti-cheat (Battle Eye) ? My PC goes well with W7 and with D2, apart from being expensive W10 lacks power to handle D2. Summing up BattleEye I don't think of W7 users, I can't play D2 now so I want my money € 140 or to leave D2 as it was until this new expansion. Thanks No me gusta NADA que reseteis el juego quitandonos la luz en el juego para que tengamos que ganarla otra vez, pero esta vez os habeis lucido si yo no juego apenas PVP para que tanto antitrampas (BattleEye)? Mi PC va bien con W7 y con D2, aparte de costar caro W10 le faltara potencia para manejar D2. Resumiendo BattleEye no penso en usuarios de W7 ya no puedo jugar D2 ahora por lo tanto quiero mi dinero 140€ o que dejen D2 como estaba hasta esta expansion nueva. Gracias
