Part 1: Aifos created an underwater city, and there he began repairing androids known as PFD Units. They were all wiped out in a war an extremely long time ago, and Aifos—being a PFD Unit himself (sort of) wanted to give them a second chance. He throws a party, hoping to get humans & PFDs comfortable hanging around eachother. Part 2: Disaster strikes, however, as Fie, one of the PFDs in question gets killed, her body on display for all the city to see. Kokonoe—the chief engineer of the city—had all of her cameras wiped out just before the murder, and so everyone was left blind. She sends out a group of peopleto snoop around to discover the murderer’s identity. Theta—another PFD—was assaulted as well, though Cobalt managed to save her life. Part 3: During the investigation, SAYU began glitching out, and during her malfunction & subsequent shutdown, she let the detectives know that whoever killed Fie wasn’t registered in her databanks, meaning they didn’t arrive by submarine. (SAYU’s back up & running now, don’t worry) A young psychic named Joshua took up the investigation on his own, and managed to discover the identity of the culprit. However, his own investigations left him looking a tad suspicious, and the detectives collectively penned him as the murderer. Joshua correctly assumed he was the real murderer’s next target, and as a last ditch attempt to get the detectives onboard, he throws himself in the line of fire. Joshua was sent to the hospital, but the true murderer’s identity was revealed; Aubrey Rose, a woman with aquakinesis, and the ability to turn into water. Her hideout was discovered in the gardens, and so Kokonoe has decided you & Fukua will search there for her.

Man... I missed a lot... Looks like it all was great though! Let’s do this.
Red acknowledges Fukua with a quick nod before responding. “We’ll take care of it. Ready whenever you are, Fukua.”
-
Yeah, I’ve been having fun with it! Props to Geo for cracking the case, even though he went for Joshua; Aubrey was his second guess.
“Alright, let’s go.” Fukua said, nodding. The two of you make your way down to the Grand Hall, and immediately you notice something different. A large barricade sits in the way of the aqua tunnel to the garden, with the halo of the Divine Trinity painted on its surface. “At least she’s not sneaking around anymore. Think we can just blast it down?”
-
Cool beans!
Red eyes the barricade up and down. She considers Fukua’s question. “I’m sure we can; we would give off a lot of noise. Do you suppose she’s expecting us anyway, if she’s in there?”
-
“I mean, she set up a giant barricade in the middle of the hall. I don’t see how she could build that for us to see that, and not be expecting us. I guess we could try to sneak through, but I’m not entirely sure how.”
-
She draws her fingertips over the metal, gives it a couple taps, then withdraws and pulls out the book in a pocket strapped to her belt. “I don’t think we have the time to look. If there is another way, hopefully we get to it before she does.” From there, she opens her book and pen, making some quick sketches and scribbling in some quick notes. Soon, a few round objects form in her grasp from shimmering dust. Red lays the explosives along the door and retreats after activating them. “We’ll just take a quick step back, if you please...”
-
*insert Brushogun joke here*
After the two if you make your distance, the explosives go off, destroying the barrier with ease. On the other side, the way to the gardens is clear, but on the other side things aren’t anything like they used to be. Hundreds of thick, thorny vines were sprouting up from the ground, twisting and wrapping around eachother to make a massive tower of thorns. Aubrey sees you come in. Standing far above you at the peak of the tower, she looks down at you both. “Sorry about the mess.” She said. “I wasn’t expecting company so soon.”
-
What’s a Brushogun?
Red gazes up the thorny tower with a frown as she steps inside the dome, almost sad. “Ms. Rose, a shame you chose such a beautiful garden for these weeds. What do you say you come down? We can have a peaceful talk about recent events?” Her book is still in her hand, a finger tucked in between some of the pages.
-
A bad guy from Teen Titans. Could bring his drawings to life & stuff.
“Come down there?” Aubrey checks her nails. “Hm.. No, I don’t think so. If you want to talk, you’re free to come up here. We’ll have a nice chat over tea, doesn’t that sound nice?” She asked with a mocking grin onher face.
-
Ah, I gotcha! I didnt know there was a show who had that idea already!
Red shakes her head. “I’m afraid this isn’t a matter fit for tea. Care to reconsider? Possibly, hopefully? You’ll have to come with us regardless; there’s nowhere else to go, now. Let’s get by the easier way.”
-
I think I’ve seen it a few times. Brushogun was the most memorable example, though.
“I’m afraid not. If I’m truly as cornered as you say, then you shouldn’t have any qualms with taking out my fortress. If you can’t, then who’s to say I’m cornered? Perhaps, rather, I’m fortified?”
-
She doesn’t answer yet, first taking a moment to further examine the tower. She looks particularly for a way to move up the structure, as well as any possible escape points that Aubrey might use. Given the height, she doesn’t expect Aubrey to jump, but she keeps the possibility in mind.
-
There don't seem to be any entrances or exits, though as soon as you don't respond to her, Aubrey gets up from her spot at the edge, and moves somewhere out of view. The ground in front of you begins to shift, and several dozen vines begin shooting out from the dirt, lashing around violently before coiling around eachother to form four vaguely humanoid figures. The frontmost one roars at you. Fukua gets in a battle stance. "I get the feeling these guys aren't too friendly. Hope you're ready for a fight."
-
Red takes a few cautious steps back at the scene. “I hope so, too.” She flips her book open to the page she had saved, summoning up a two-bladed weapon with a handle between them. Short enough for speedy actions yet long enough to keep enemies at a distance, it’s handle lands in her hand. She tucks her book away and prepares. “Stick together. We might have a better shot if we have each other’s backs.”
-
Fukua nods. “I’ll try to follow your lead!” Two of them begin rushing at you.
Combat will be freeform, make sure to put dodges & counterattacks in the same post (so, “I dodge then strike back”, not “I dodge!”. You get the first attack in most combat emcounters (including this one), and as I said I’ll try to have Fukua back up your attacks. I’ll also give you the opportunity for you to have finisher moves to finish off most combat encounters if that’s your thing.
-
Hey! Apologies for the late reply!
“I’ll grab left!” Red rushes forward, swiping one side of her weapon down toward the creature’s feet. If it hits properly, the edge of the blade should glow violet, and sear straight through the woody limbs. She keeps an eye on the top of the tower.
-
No worries. Was that you saying you want to split with Fukua, or teaming up?
Your attack hits clean, but not quite to the effect you were hoping. As its wooden limbs snapped, more vines simply crept down from the wound to replace them. Now that it was closer, the vines on its arms stretched to form a heavy wooden blade, swinging towards you from the side.
-
I was thinking both of us each grab one, but stick close so that neither one of them get hit in the back.
Red stares at the healed wound, a little surprised, when the blade coming into sight snatched her attention. She swings her weapon to smack it away. If successful, the opposite point of her weapon cuts a path through the air for the monster’s head.
-
I think I’ll consider that working together! I’ll start typing out her fight. If you need help, or want to help her, just say so! Your weapon is a twinblade, right? I think I misread it at first as two dual wielded swords
You successfully knock the blade away, but as you go to swing towards the head it gets blocked by a raised claw. The sword cuts about halfway through the limb. It takes the opportunity to lift its own sword, amd try to drive it through your stomach from the front. On Fukua’s end, she manages to parry a swing of the monster’s claw with her hair, and blast it with an emergy sphere, putting some distance between the two of you and the second monster.
-
Cool beans! And yes, you’d be right. Thinking back, I don’t think my description was super clear, so that probably didn’t help haha.
Red quickly attempts to sidestep out of the way, the enemy’s sword clipping the side of her coat. She tries to counter with another swing toward its neck, taking note of Fukua’s movements.
-
No need to say things like “it clips through my coat” by the way. I’ll take care of how effective your dodges/blocks are. That way I can artificially force you into moments of peril! :D
It tries once again to block with its claw, but this time you slice straight through the arm, and land a clean slice against the closest thing it has to a neck. It roars, and stumbled back a few steps, a gaping wound left where your sword had sliced through. Its own blade began to unwind into several individual vines, which shot out at you like a barrage of spikes! Fukua fired two more energy spheres from her hair at her own opponent, though it swerved out of the way of both, and leaped towards her. Her hair began to spin around itself forming a makeshift drill that struck the thing in the chest, carrying it overhead, and tossing it behind the two of you. She turned to face it.
-
Okie dokie.
With nothing to deflect the blow, Red is taken by surprise and stumbles backward in hopes that the spikes would pass over her. However, knowing that being on the ground would leave her more vulnerable, she calls out to Fukua for aid.
-
As you call out to Fukua, she glances over at your situation, and sends out her spectre to kick her opponent into place. The vines pass overhead, and impale the one she had just kicked several times over. With a slash of her hair the vines over you were severed, letting you get back up, as the impaled one tumbles to the ground. With their friend down, however, the two who have been standing guard by the palace join the fight, making it a 2-on-3.
