figured i better at least try to get back into rp, so here i am with a 'new character' (actually an antagonist in a future arc of mine)
"I understand." Mrithun acknowledges coldly, and although he was just told to be non lethal, he loads and checks his twin pistols, just in case.

-
Want a summary of the events up until this point, or are you good just kinda winging it?
"Ready to go, then?" Fukua asked. "Or did you need to stop anywhere before we head for Aubrey?"
-
i'm good winging it more or less, if we really need some sort of setup then let's say that Mrithun's hired help
"I'm prepared, nothing else need attention." Mrithun replies, waiting for Fukua's response before beginning.
-
Well, everyone's hired help, so in that sense he's the same as everyone else. :p Shame you missed the detective portion, though. This part's a bit more of the standard "let's fight da bad guys". Since he said he's ready, I'm going to assume he's good to head down to the garden. Save us both a reply!
"Alright, then let's get going." Fukua said, beginning to head down to the Grand Hall. You could immediately notice the change, as a large barricade was set up over the aqua tunnel to the garden, with the logo of the Divine Trinity on its face. "Well, at least she's not sneaking around anymore. Doesn't look too tough; we can probably smash through it."
-
jokes on you i happen to like combat parts best
Mrithun glances at his guns once more, "I can't break that, and I don't particularly want to waste ammo. I'll leave it to you." he then states, entirely putting the burden on Fukua.
-
I know, most people do. That's exactly why it's a shame, though. I like getting people to try things they're not normally used to! :D
"Got it." Fukua said, as her hair began to shimmer with a bright green light. After a few seconds she fired off a huge ball of light, that crashed into the barrier, and exploded, leaving the way to the gardens clear. On the other side, though, you didn't find the serene gardens that used to be there, but hundreds, maybe even thousands of thick thorny vines, growing up out of the ground, tangling up with eachother to create a massive palace of thorns. Far above you, standing at its peak was your target; Aubrey, though she seemed to be out of reach, staring down at you. "Sorry about the mess." She said. "I wasn't expecting guests so-" She paused. "Wait, a minute, who the hell are you? You aren't one of Kokonoe's detectives."

Edited by Fastman2002: 5/16/2021 9:06:17 PM
it's not that i don't like other stuff, i just like combat stuff the most
"Are you Aubrey?" Mrithun asks, proceeding to point both of his guns at Aubrey, using his 'eyes' to see the bullets' intended path should he fire, straight into her head and chest respectively. "I was tasked to take you alive, but I won't hesitate to use force if necessary." He then declares.
also i probably shouldn't have started this when i'm about to go to sleep. Speaking of which, be back in about 9 hours.
-
I'll admit, I just want more detective stuff. I thought it was super fun. I'd keep it going if not for the fact that I think everyone would be sick of it after two parts!
Aubrey laughs. "Go ahead and shoot, darling. I think you'll find I'm quite safe up here. I guess Kokonoe's little helpers weren't doing a well enough job, so she had to go and hire some more rats to do her dirty work. You lot can say what you want about me, but at least I do all the dirty work myself."
No worries; we'll be here all week!
-
Mrithun pauses for a moment, then adjusts his aim on the gun aiming at Aubrey’s head to instead aim over her right shoulder, “I don’t particularly care about what you say.” He then fires said gun.
-
The bullet hits some sort of invisible barrier about halfway up the tower. “Well how rude.” Aubrey says. “It’s not very polite to shoot someone in the middle of a conversation. Didn’t your mother ever teach you any manners?”
-
Mrithun lowers both guns in silence upon hearing the mention of his mother, but quickly composes himself and looks around the room for any passages.
-
There’s nothing at the moment. Aubrey doesn’t seem to thrilled about you ignoring her, and folds her arms. “Fine. If you’re in such a rush to get killed, who am I to hold you back?” She says, walking off. The ground in front of you begins to shift, and dozens of vines shoot out of the ground, coiling around eachother to form four vaguely humanoid shapes. The one in front lets out a roar. “Get ready, I think these things are looking for a fight.” Fukua said.
How much you want to work with Fukua is up to you. I can try to coordinate her attacks with yours, and have you work together, or if you’d prefer I can just split the enemies and have her do her own thing “off-screen”.
-
Mrithun aims his guns at the vine creature at the front, both at its chest, “See if you can keep them at a distance, away from me.” Mrithun orders to Fukua, before firing each gun once.
how will combat work?
-
Edited by The First Aifos: 5/18/2021 4:13:19 PM
Freeform. I’ll control Fukua if you decide to work with her. You’ll put both your reaction (dodges/blocks/etc.) in the same post as your action (counterattacks and the like). You can roll dice if you want, but unfortunately most of my replies are while I’m at work, so I can’t be the one to do the rolls. Dice rolls are not required it you’d rather not, though. I do humbly request you react to your wounds, though, and not shrug them off like a video game protagonist. I’ll also be leaving the last hits on most groups of enemies open to a finisher move, if you’re into those.
“Got it!” Fukua says. Two of the creatures begin to rush towards the two of you. Fukua lobs a few energy spheres at them, slowing their progress, while you land your shots cleanly into their stomachs. Despite their wounds, they both keep charging forwards, though, and despite her best efforts, they still start slowly making their way closer. One gets fed up of the slow progress, and one of its arms extends towards you as a sharpened spike.
-
Mrithun rolls to the side to avoid the spike, and shoots both guns at the one that just attacked him.
-
You manage to swerve out of the way, but only one of your shots manages to hit, striking it in the shoulder. It was enough to throw off its balance, though, causing it to trip to the ground. The other nearly reaches you, but a spectral clone of Fukua shoots from her body, and starts manually holding it back, though it doesn’t look like she can keep it up for long.
-
Mrithun steps back and aims one gun at each of their heads, using his 'eyes' to gauge his shot better, then fires each gun.
-
Sidequest!
The one that Fukua was holding back was hit cleanly, stumbling backwards from the shot. Fukua took advantage of the opportunity, using her spectre to strike its chest with a drill made of her hair. It fell to the ground, it and seemed to be just about on the ends of its ropes, but not quite down yet. The other, however, managed to crawl forwards right as your shot fired, causing it to be hit in the side instead. It only reacted slightly from the wound, before leaping towards you with a pounce.
-
Mrithun leaps back, firing both guns at the one that just attacked him.
-
Both of your shots land, causing two sizable holes in its chest, but despite its injuries, it continues its pounce and lands upon you. You tumble backwards, and the thing begins clawing at you, leaving you with several light cuts, but luckily nothing manages to slice too deep.
