Alignment: “I’ll make sure every nook and cranny has been seen. Are you sure you all will be fine?”

Aifos nodded. “We know how to fight if something happens. What’s important now is catching Aubrey before she causes any more damage.”
-
Alignment: “Well, I can’t argue with that. Where do you think we should start?”
-
“The gardens.” Fukua said. “That’s where her little secret bedroom was. Even if we destroyed all her little spy screens, it’s still our best lead as to where she’d go if she was cornered.”
Question; if I were to post a little side adventure taking place between Parts 3 & 4, do you think you’d be up to participate alongside Part 4, or do you think it’d be too much of a distraction? Geo had a fun little adventure after Aubrey attacked, and I was thinking of extending it to everyone.
-
Alignment: “I’m sure she knows we’ve been there already, but it would be a good place to find a lead. Let’s move!”
Sure. I think it’s a good idea to have other players make an impact on everyone else through certain actions. Makes it feel like we’re all together.
-
You and Fukua move out towards the Grand Hall, and things are immediately off. The aqua tunnel leading towards the gardens is blocked off by a large barricade with the Divine Trinity logo painted on the front. “Well, at least she’s not trying to be sneaky anymore.” Fukua said. “I’d bet we can bust that thing down.”
Cool, I’ll probably post it, then. Just gotta make sure Slayer’s done on Part 3, first. Having 3 different RP posts up at the same time by the same person would no doubt be annoying. :p (or I could maybe work it into this thread, but that may get confusing for anyone scoping the RP to see if they want to join)
-
Alignment throws his ball at the barricade, catching it as it ricochets to him.
Well, you don’t necessarily have to make an entirely different post. You could just add some new events into the current story to make things easier to manage.
-
It'd be kinda hard to implement anywhere besides between 3 & 4. It takes place in the secret tunnels which would be a pretty big detour from the garden (I could have admittedly worked that into Part 4 if I had thought of it in advance, making you need to enter from the Le Restaurant tunnel, but it's a bit late for that). 5 & 6 would be a bit tricky as well, for similar reasons. So, it'd need to be a flashback to the night before, after Aubrey attacked Joshua, and all that. I suppose the other option is I could integrate it into Part 3, have y'all hop back and make a new reply there like we did for you chatting with Joshua, but that one already has a lot of different reply chains going on.. >.>
Each ricochet leaves a sizable dent in the barrier, until its weak enough that one orb creates a large hole. Fukua uses her hair to pry it apart a bit more, creating the perfect entryway into the gardens. Things were much different than they were before, however. Thick, thorny vines grew out of every patch of dirt, coalescing together into a large fortress that covered the entirety of the garden. You catch a glimpse of Aubrey standing at the top of the fortress, and she looks back down at you. "Apologies for the mess." She said. "I wasn't expecting company so soon."
-
Then I’ll probably wait until I’m done with this part to do it so I won’t get confused.
Alignment: “Thorns in the Garden? Care to explain?”
-
That works. It's just a fun little side adventure anyway, so it doesn't actually have too many implications on the plot. I'll let you know when it's up regardless, though.
"Oh, nothing you need to worry your little head about. I'm just doing a bit redecorating is all." Aubrey said, leaning on the railing of her tower.
-
Alignment: “Oh, well, if the murderer says the giant patch of dangerous thorns is nothing then I’ll just be on my way.”
-
"Oh, you're leaving? What a shame. I was hoping you'd stay for tea, at the least. I had some friends who were really hoping to meet you." The ground begins to shift in front of you, and several vines shoot up out of the dirt, tangling around eachother to form four vaguely humanoid shapes. A thin layer of water leaks up from underground, and covers them before sinking into their surface. "Well, they don't look friendly.." Fukua said, getting in a battle stance. "Have fun." Aubrey said with a laugh, before walking away.
How much you want to work together with Fukua is up to you. You can either team up and take out the baddies together, or if you'd prefer, I can split the enemies between you and she'll handle her battle "off-screen". I'll be controlling her either way, so you don't need to worry about knowing her powers or anything.
-
Alignment: “Say, Fuku, since you have pyro-like capabilities, do you think you can handle these thorns?”
-
"Uh, it's more like solidified light, or soul-energy or something. It, doesn't really burn that much. The palace looks pretty thick, so I don't think I could cut through that, at least, not any time soon, but these weird monster things don't look that tough. We'll cut through them no problem!" Almost as though on cue, two of the vine creatures began slowly moving towards you.
-
Alignment: “Very well.” He splits his balls only in two so he can form a more potent laser in between them and sends it forward to the vine creatures.
-
As soon as you activated the laser, they picked up their speed, diving under it as it launched towards them. As the first one popped up, and lunged for you, Fukua blasted it with a ball of green energy, knocking it out of the way. The vines on the second however began to extend into a large sword, which it tried to swing at you from below.
-
Alignment tries to move the balls so that the laser severs the sword vine from its main body further away from its head.
-
The thing notices your plan, and stops bringing its sword forwards after the laser had only cut part way through. Just then, though, the other one lunged in from the side, claws bared and ready to strike at you.
-
Alignment tries to jump over when it strikes and land on its body.
-
I guess I should point out that when I do combat encounters, I usually have you put both your defensive/evasive actions in the same post. So, rather than just jumping over, you would both jump over, and say whatever you're planning on doing next.
You manage to evade its strike, and it continues stumbling forwards, towards where Fukua was standing, though she manages to strike it in the chest with a tendril of her hair, knocking it back towards your position, though clearly still reeling and unable to mount an attack towards you.
-
So I would have to list Fukua’s actions as well?
-
Nah, I'll control Fukua. I'll build what she does around what you do, unless you want to do things solo, in which case I'll have her fight her own battles "off-screen". I just mean to write both your dodge/block, and your attack in the same reply. I find it helps things go faster, which is important for a fight scene. So, "I dodge and then shoot it with one of my metal ball thingies" rather than just "I dodge".
-
Alignment retrieves his balls and arranges them into his sword formation, using this opportunity to slice the plant himself.
-
Your beam cuts clearly across its back, and it stumbles forwards again. It doesn’t seem to be beaten quite yet, but before you can try to finish it off, the sword-wielder stepped in, swinging towards you from above with its blade.
-
Not wanting to lose his position, Alignment places the outlying ball from his sword onto the plant he stands on and extends the laser, pushing the 3-ball hilt he holds upwards. He then uses his ball configuration to vault onto the sword plant and slice it from above.
