A weapon with High range and low stability would be useless at long distances. Accuracy and zoom distance are also factors that affect long distance viability. Range is an agragate stat that includes more than just damage drop-off.
The same argument you're making about range could be made about stability or reload speed as well.

I realize that it is like that and that range isn't the only factor that determines effective range. I've seen the chart for the accuracy cones and how zoom effects it and overall effective range. But seeing as handcannons (although nobody necessarily likes that the range stat is next to worthless), from a balancing stand point it would be good. I'm not asking for a change to it, I was more so curious what people thought about it as they could potentially go this route in the future if they want to more specifically fine tune the weapon types for pvp and to a lesser extent pve.
