Remove Shattered Throne completely from Quests.
It's a secret activity to get another Exotic called Wish Ender. It has no place in another Exotic Quest not even relating to the weapon. It's just filler.
It's like if Last Word had us going back to Io to wait for the Public Event on Friday-Sunday to do the Whisper mission again to collect an Ascendant material after completing it.
Makes no sense right?
On the other hand the Rare bounty is apart of Black Armory, so I don't have any arguments there because it belongs in the quest.

I agree the shattered throne shouldnt be involved in this quest. Rng for a rare bounty, then time gated shattered throne step... wtf? Im glad i knew about the bounties before hand and had 1 ready on all characters! Thankfully, i lfg’d that shattered throne step, got into a group that was at the boss... i was in shattered throne for about a minute!!

It's not the first time bungie made a questionable move with a quest series; look at sleeper catalyst, it requires you to do the heroic whisper quest to do oracles.
-
I thought oracles was for the ship. I thought the sleeper catalyst was in one of the prestige raid or raid lairs?

Shattered Throne isn't hard (its fun and you don't need to do the bow quest within the dungeon to complete the dungeon), and its not the problem with this quest. Its a problem when I have 3 characters who have unlocked all the forges and NONE of them have received a rare bounty EVER. I'm probably going to get screwed out of getting the sniper this week because, no rare bounties will drop for me.

Edited by Spooky_Ari: 1/12/2019 7:00:13 PMWell no, but the comparison still applies. Also, you have your opinion. and I actually do have the bounty (it isn't hard), but there is no way I'm doing Shattered Throne for a stupid quest. It isn't fun, it's work and it is the worst excuse for content filler ever. At least you get to just wait until a bounty pops up. Simple. I actually have to go and do the daunting task of going through the Shattered Throne again which is BS.

And yeeeeeeeeeeeesh. You're severely under-leveled for any of these activities. How are you even participating in any Black Armory content when its all 615 plus content? The Throne was rough for me when it first came out and I wanted the bow, but I was 560 roughly then. (It was still fun though, but again, opinion). Maybe if you weren't so under-leveled you'd enjoy these challenging activities a lot more. :/

Check my clan and you'll see someone with 650 characters that's me as well. All of them are me actually.

I can only see the founder and it doesn't let me click their profile. Either way, my other more lengthy response still stands. Have a nice day.

I'm the founder lol https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/254/19230007/Inara_Blackthorn

First, I do agree with it just being content filler. This whole Black Armory DLC is virtually no new content and is just borrowing from old content to fill the grind. New missions should have been made instead of taking from past content. That I will agree with. However, waiting on luck to throw you a bone when you are as unlucky as me (and a lot of the community) is a lot harder then just being able to go out there and earn something. I'm being held back from 3 titles (Cursebreaker, Rivensbane, and Dredgon) because, of RNG. I did everything to earn those title, but I'm held back from said title because, of luck. I shouldn't be held back from earning something I deserve because, I'm unlucky. I don't want anything handed to me, I want to be able to earn everything and not be held back by a raffle. Same thing applies here. I can easily go out and earn something, but waiting on RNG to bless me is a lot harder. It's not as simple as you make it, when somebody like me can easily go out and earn something for herself, but can't complete something because, they're simply unlucky. I have to wait on a rare bounty to drop when I am capable of earning everything else. A lot of the community shares the same sentiment, where we are being held back by simply being unlucky, when we are more then capable of doing everything. Like I said before, I have all the forges unlocked on all 3 characters, but I can't finish this sniper quest now because, I'm unlucky and haven't gotten a rare bounty ever? Thats a load of crap. I even knew about it weeks prior and would have saved a rare bounty, but I never even GOT one. Meanwhile, my whole clan has gotten at least 3 or more so far. How frustrating is it to be held back from something you are easily capable of earning because, you're unlucky? Very. If you peruse through the forums and Reddit, you'll see that I'm not the only one. I don't see how the Shattered Throne isn't fun. It's a 3 man raid with simplified mechanics. Its packed with thrills, jump scares, and overall very fulfilling. I guess our definitions of fun are different? I like to be challenged and engulfed in a difficult activity, with a multilayered and ever-evolving story to go with it. Its an adventure. Maybe Bungie is preparing us for breaking the curse for good? (If you read the latest lore tab from the Queen this week, you'll know what I mean). The hubs and I two-manned it in an hour give or take, and thats stopping to take screenshots of the Watchtower and such too. Like you said though, its a matter of opinion.

Edited by Spooky_Ari: 1/12/2019 7:42:21 PMbecause it's a vast open area with little to nothing going on, but then then you do get to the boss the difficulty spikes exponentially. I've engrossed myself in the story of Destiny and even have a few theories of the overall picture and the future of Guardians, Savathun and possibly the origins of the Traveler. Everything looks nice. Like Forsaken 'looks' nice but it's very unforgiving and it just squanders that feeling. I like the idea of Shattered Throne, but just what it represents. An activity with Raid like mechanics that you can just go in and attempt to do yourself like a treat you can do every 3 weeks. However, it is still very unforgiving as I said. Vorgeth is way too gimmicky to be fun on your own and even with people. What you kill the small enemies around the room leaving the wizard, and then kill the wizards to gain a buff to destroy the barrier? but at the same time you need have a time limit so you can't just take it nice and methodical like how D1 Nightfall solo's were, but instead you have you force yourself out into Vorgeths line of sight so you can collect each orb within the time limit meanwhile Vorgeth hits you with his Necromanic Gaze that sends you flying out of cover for you to die to Wizards. No, I cannot accept that as a good experience or fun. Even though I know what to do, and have the ability to get it done, the game's limitations are what deny me, and I shouldn't have to browse lfg, that isn't how it's supposed to work. I shouldn't have to rely on others a task I'm supposed to do myself. Also, we should've been given a guaranteed rare bounty after completing Begusia.
-
The only thing limiting me in this game is how unlucky I am, and that is beyond frustrating. We should be given a rare bounty for completing Bergusia like you said, or even from completing a weekly bounty. Its really bad when you can't complete a gun quest because, of luck. And 😍😍😍 to your response in regard to the story and the lore. I don't feel like anybody in my clan shares the same excitement about where the story is going and all the little breadcrumbs this game keeps giving me. I've recorded quotes and have made connections to past lore and its just very exciting. I may be very unlucky, but at least the lore in this game isn't holding back from me lol

The lore is the single most thing that is keeping me playing this game. Everyone in my previous clan left D2 before Forsaken including my best friend because she felt Destiny was going in the wrong direction. At least in terms of activities being inaccessible because of grinding and the fact that all the Y1 stuff became obsolete. It became too much of a hardcore grind to collect things without any real payoff worthy for the time investment. My clan consisted of people who only had a couple of hours to play and maybe a few hours on a certain day so we could have the chance to try a Raid, but Raiding became too much of a teaching session and standing around doing nothing which I now feel Raids need better accessibility. Not matchmaking for normal Raids, but maybe for a Tutorial Story mode without all the revive tokens or timed wipe mechanics. Matchmaking players can get used to the mechanics of Raids as well as experience the story so they wouldn't have to stand around and get half hearted explanations or be told to watch videos on how to do the Raids because nobody wants to help teach them.

I completely agree. The lore is the only reason I started and its the only reason I'm staying. Hopefully with Bungie becoming independent from Activision, D3 will be more like the game we all want.
