I stopped around like 100 hours or so because I was just done. My first run through of the campaign, (which I did on legendary because I've been playing Halo for a long time and its not that difficult) was so easy. No first run through of a campaign on the hardest difficulty should be that damn easy. There was only one mission that somewhat caused issues but on legendary in every other Halo game every mission has some spot that absolutely sucks and takes time to get through. Halo 5 lacked that. The req system ruined the game for me entirely. Absolutely horrible. I dont even think I need to explain why a system like that doesn't belong in Halo Game physics. Everything about the game's physics sucks and Im going to leave it at that. Weapon changes. All the weapon changes except for the Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Boltshot, and Suppressor sucked. All the Forerunner weapons pretty much were ruined although props to 343 on the splinter turret and grenade. But everything else felt horrible especially the DMR and Battle Rifle. Absolutely horrible. And don't even get me started on the Magnum, that change was the stupidest and most unnecessary one out of all of them. Its far too strong for a pistol, especially when that pistol is being used against a Spartan. The way it was in the other Halo's was fine. Art style change was bad for the most part although the vehicle art style and art style of certain areas were good but overall it wasn't. 343 should've stuck with the Halo 4 style and just improved the graphics, not completely change it. The ranking system in PvP is horrendous. I had a season where I won 9/10 of my FFA matches by 5+ points and I was placed in Gold. That's complete and utter BS. Winning 8/10 matches should automatically put you in Diamond for obvious reasons. Now Forge mode was amazing and very impressive. Whenever I get on Halo 5 thats all I do because its more fun than anything else. Team Action Sack is alright, Forge definitely makes it amazing but again all the above points about the game itself ruin it. Warzone. I hate it because I lost every time because I had noob team after noob team after noob team. I should not be put with that many scrubs that often when Im finishing a season with each ranked playlist being at top of platinum or higher. Lack of SBMM or if it does have it, poor SBMM ruined Warzone as did the req system. There's so much more I could add but not going too because I'm not making a comment that takes ten minutes to read.

  • I don’t know, it’s still a challenge to perfect a guy. Also, H2 BR was insanely fast kill wise, do you not like that either?

  • There's a big difference between a simple side arm pistol to a magnum. Magnums are very capable of using high powered ammunition that rifles use, that in turn equates to a lot of damage they can do to what they hit as well as the user if improperly held. Look up desert eagles and the various magnums out there on the internet and see the comparisons to a pistol. In halos universe, they're 500 years in the future with a lot of weapon advancements. Regarding it's effectiveness on spartans, so what? Do you think pistols can't breach armor? Plenty of them do, and if a pistol can....... just imagine what a magnum can do.

  • "The M225 SAP-HE is the standard issue ammunition for the M6 series of sidearms. Performance-wise, the round is effective against infantry, especially against unarmored or unshielded opponents. Compared to the M118 7.62×51mm and the M634 9.5×40mm rounds, the M225 is a relatively effective round against energy shields due to its high explosive ammunition properties. It is largely ineffective against vehicles, as it is not significantly armor-piercing." Lore clearly states otherwise buddy. Spartans are shielded and heavily armored to the point of being able to survive a sniper round which mind you in Halo those bullets would qualify to be put in a fighter jet's gun nowadays. And we can take one of those to the body at extremely high velocity. And yet we die to 4 magnum shots to the head? The shields are weaker around the head but not that much weaker. Bungie was able to live up to the lore of their game even in PvP for the most part and they did in Halo Reach so I don't understand why 343 is having such a hard time doing the same thing when all it takes is a quick search. Halo 5 Magnum: "The M6H2 variant had entered service by at least 2557 and was issued to all branches of the UNSC. It has a serial number of "00MA0100062473" and sports a black polymer finish. Like the base M6H, the M6H2 is semi-automatic, recoil-operated and magazine-fed, but has an increased 12-round magazine capacity. The variant also boasts increased accuracy and is most effective with precision aiming. It features a smoother slide design and a Projection sight (in place of the venerable KFA-2 x2) to support smart scope functionality." As you can see the improved the magnum did not change its round and spartan armor improved within the timeframe from Halo 4 to Halo 5 so it doesn't make sense that we're dying from 4 headshots with armor that was better than previous armor to a magnum that did not get a larger and more powerful round.

  • ??? What you quoted even says the magnum is effective vs shielded targets. Take the shields out and the opposition really can't take bullets regardless of armor advancements (your quote also says significantly effective vs unarmored infantry however that can still mean it's effective vs armored infantry just not as much as the former). I'm also curious on what improvements are made in such little time between H4 to H5 regarding the armor used as I'm oblivious to it, plus I doubt it since the UNCS is having to resort to older tech in the current timeline. The previous war has drained them a lot when it comes to tech advancements (specifically on the production level really) so I'd be surprised to see armor actually capable of stopping a magnum let alone a sniper. Furthermore did they change the magnum to a 4sk? Cause when I played (I haven't in over a year now) it was a 5sk. I remember a lot of people myself included wanting a 4sk utility weapon, doesn't need to be a magnum but it's just a weapon skin to me, rifle or magnum works fine to me as I don't care to much on the looks of a weapon but more on it's function which the H5 magnum is the closest best thing since the CE magnum when it comes to a good utility weapon. Regardless one thing to take Into consideration is what makes sense won't always be a thing on weapon balance. In short gameplay trounces lore or realism. Because the magnum IS the utility weapon, it has to be viable in various scenarios, hence it's effectiveness on what it does in game. Nerf it's stats and it becomes a terrible utility weapon and you may as well replace it with something else (assuming stats were to go up and make the replacement a viable utility weapon). Why did they use a magnum? 🤷 Preference maybe? Maybe they saw people wanted it back and chose it that way. Who knows. Unless the magnum has recently changed, I don't think it was really as good as people made it out to be. Rifles were still straight up upgrades to it and that's what made the H5 magnum a questionable utility weapon in the first place.
