Thank you Sony for letting us know how long to save our pennies for the PS5. PS4 Pro Owners are assured to get your money's worth. For me, I know some really great games are coming in the next three years. (Death Stranding). When Sony does release the PS5, I hope they make enough to handle 8 years of pent up demand!
Question now is whether Microsoft will jump the gun with the Xbox Two. Worked with the Xbox 360. Didn't work with the WiiU and Dreamcast. I think they will lean on Xbox One X price drops for the next three years.

I doubt I'll even buy "next gen". I just recently upgraded to the Xbox one x. The only thing next gen consoles will do is run games at 4k/60fps. To me that's not going to be worth the $400-$500 price range. I doubt there will be any next gen exclusives either.

9 RepliesMan this gen has been trash thus far
-
3 RepliesAll I'll say is I'm not getting a ps5 anytime soon unless it's backwards compatible.
-
3 Repliesdidn't MS say they are done with generations after the Xbox one X launched?
-
7 RepliesWow, this gen is almost over? Maybe 3 great games have came out on the consoles so far. Pretty freakin' horrendous in my opinion.

Edited by Bake8935: 5/24/2018 4:58:25 PMTotal click bait title. That’s not what they said. Also, thanks for posting a link that you can’t read more than paragraph without a subscription.

2 RepliesI’m pretty sure Microsoft is working on another console behind the scenes, it just hasn’t been released yet.
-
4 RepliesYeah I just traded in my launch model for a Pro around Black Friday, so it's not even a year old yet and I'm loving the enhanced performance even without 4k (it makes *such* a difference on the load times like holy crap, not to mention the extra 500 GB of space). So yeah I'm OK with things being pushed back a bit, especially if Anthem really takes off - gives us about the same window Destiny had to launch its sequel, only this time it'll be next gen :D

3 RepliesWho ever sells their console first has the weaker console. Unless that console runs at 4K 60FPS Xbox will out do it.

4 RepliesEdited by Vgnut: 5/24/2018 4:41:09 AMPR speak is very vague and full of loopholes. Nowhere does anyone from Sony outright say "The PS5 is three years away." What they said was "We will use the next three years to prepare the next step, to crouch down so that we can jump higher in the future," Drivel. You can spin that anyway you like. Could mean three years. Could be two. We've heard the first whispers about some next gen Playstation dev kits. That means 2019 is out of the question. If the PS5 was coming next year we'd hear more rumblings. You would see third party publishers refer to "other platforms" in earnings call. The door for 2020 is still open. Could be 2021 too. Sony's acutely aware that 1) Microsoft wants out of this gen. 2) They were burned last time Microsoft got the jump on them. 3) A new generation is like resetting the scoreboard. The Playstation has gone from monopolizing one generation to entering the next struggling. Most console purchasers aren't brand loyal and see the Xbox and Playstation and substitutes. That may speed things along.

Xbox one should be smart and not make a new console. Xbox one X is good enough. Games can’t even hit 4K fr, if you want something stronger get a PC. I can say ps4 and Xbox 1 has probably been the worse consoles to date, how can they already talk about a new console when current gen FINALLY is getting good?
-
That gives them enough time to implement Ryzen tech into the PS5.
-
It’ll probably be the PS4 Pro Pro
-
2 RepliesI think they should save Death Stranding for PS5, as much as I want to play it, it'll probably help sell that console in an instant.
-
I think that that is the smart thing to do. I (maybe we) as hardcore gamers would probably like to see a new machine sooner rather than later but the sales are dictated by the masses and the majority of sales still go to the casual crowd. And those generaly don't like it when a couple of months after getting a shiny new PS4 Pro or Xbone X a newer better version is announced, that tends to put people off. So yes 3 years feels about right.
-
This is likely a bad move on their part, and I'm surprised sony did it. They like to announced there's last, and tune up there specs to be better than the competition or copy whatever the competition is doing
-
3 RepliesThis is great news. The PS4 will have a nice long life cycle before being replaced by better hardware. Can't wait to see what devs will come up with in the next 3 years as they max out what the PS4 can do. If God of War is any indication, it'll be a fun 3 years.
-
I'm totally fine with that. More than happy with my PS4.
-
4 RepliesOh and on a side not if the ps5 and Xbox two don’t launch with RuneScape then they are DOA.
-
1 ReplyI’m actually happy about that
-
I got my Ps4 Pro on December 2016. So its good to know that im gonna even further get my moneys worth
-
Well we have a death stranding release window then
-
Brilliant. I just bought my pro last year, and before that I had a launch PS4. This means I'll have gotten more than my moneys worth for both.
-
You see this poor people? Start saving up -blam!-ing now and don't cry in 3, 4, 5 years that games come out on PS5 and not PS4. I don't want to read and hear all your whining again.
