When I went to get my legacy emblems, and they were all basic looking whites.
Why Bungie?
This was the first of many realisations that Bungie put zero thought into Destiny 2.
(Reality of truths, rather than complete all out Bungie bashing please)

1 ReplyRealizing I could cheese strike bosses in D1... It's odd how Bungie's 'fix' for D2 is somehow worse than the original bug...
-
Releasing D2
-
When i finished the main campaing of Destiny 1.

luke smith is lead...

1 ReplyWhen they told us it would be a 2 primary load out. Knew it was gunna suck before D2 even released.
-
When I finished the vanilla D1 campaign.

3 RepliesA rocket launcher with shank burn.
-
Blink overnerf and then every consecutive nerf to it
-
Those awful commercials with Cayde, I knew something was wrong. They were clearly aiming for young kids.
-
2 RepliesThorn got nerfed.

1 ReplyProbably how easy it was to get shot by Warpriest when on a plate was mine
-
1 ReplyStarting up the game and being met with EXACTLY the same character selection and customisation screen. Alarm bells went off right then, then settled down till about 3 missions in. Faith was completely broken a little later when I had finished the embarrassingly short campaign and the true light of bungies shocking handling of destiny came truly apparent.

Edited by nonchalantone: 3/2/2018 2:06:55 AMDregs "Promise".....(D1) Rocker Launchers that can't hit shit you are aiming for .... (D2) And yes I know there is a rocker launcher available that fires "small tracking missles"....but that's the equivalent to a "BB Gun" in this game....

I guess the original mess up was rebooting D1’s campaign into a mess and losing a lot of the original creative talent like Staten and O’Donnell. Otherwise, it would have to be trend of nerfing everything that was popular as a means of promoting balance (aka boring gameplay). If you really want to go way back to the original sin, it would be Bungie’s announcement of a 10 year partnership with Activision.

In the D1 beta, I noticed that there really wasn't many options for characyer customization. I figured it was just because it was the beta, and when the full game released, there would be tons more thongs we coukd do to customize our characters. Then D1 launched and the characyer creation was exactly the same as the beta. Then I saw how little character customization mattered. These realizations made me think that the game was not really set up for true longevity across many titles over many years. I just felt like "Oops, Bungie messed up, I feel like they kind of missed out on what the long-term player would be looking for as far as depth of character. People who just want a decent FPS probably won't care, but the kinds of people who really want a game to get into and have a rich character that they can get attached to and carry across 4 full games are going to be disappointed with this."

It was when I noticed character creation seemed the exact same in D2 as D1.
-
When I realized that Destiny 2 had less vault space than Destiny 1. They made lots of mistakes before that but this is when I realized that Bungie couldn't make an open world, sci-fi, looter epic like I wanted.

When I was able to be killed by a total of 2 Thorn bullets from scout rifle range, 3 Last word bullets, a single sniper shot to the toe with Final Round, or a Shot Package shot gun blast from hand cannon range. House of Wolves was a miserable time to play in the crucible. Oh, in D2? 4v4. I had been hoping to get 8v8 like in the previous 10 years of Halo that I played before Destiny. Oh, and the fact that Bungie still hasn't made a single new class after 4 years.
-
When I got a taste of the new weapon load out in the D2 Beta.
-
When Cozmo told me there’s tons hidden things in D2. Then I played for a week.....the trust ....so broken!
-
When Bungie decided to move Shotguns and Snipers into the Power slot.
-
1 ReplyWhen I got a Scout rifle with 16 rounds and it had the Final Round Perk.

December 2014...

When they announced the decision not to bring anything forward from Destiny 1 that you had earned. All you get to bring with you was your guardian's face and gender. ... That doesn't exactly inspire the kind of "10 year" loyalty that I think they were going for.

D1 - Getting a quarter of the way through the campaign only to realize that what I just played through IS the campaign. D2 - Literally the instant I heard about the new weapon loadout.
