Less than 1 out 5 players have completed a raid. Most probably don't want to waste hours to possibly receive a bright engram.

  • Bungie is going back to rewarding the top 20% of players, which is the ultimate good of the game. Look up the Pareto Principle, that 20% of customers are the most important part of all companies. No one cares about the people who bought the game only to stop playing after the campaign

  • Already got a complete set of hard gear on all three characters and I really am in no need for Bright Engrams so I’m not heading back to do the same raid over and over again. Not even the reskinned iron banner weapons is appealing.

  • This is an extremely good point. The purpose of raiding or taking on challenging combative end game content is to obtain GEAR that will either increase your overall fighting capability or at least provide variety in the GEAR you already possess. It definitely doesn't make sense to add cosmetic-type items as rewards for a 1 to 4 hour investment in an end game combat encounter. People like shooting things in this game for obvious reasons. That's part of the fun. That's to be expected; to shoot things that is. And the reasonable expectation is that, as a loot and shoot game, you find new types of weapons along the way. And if you complete the pinnacle of content, players should receive a fairly astonishing piece of gear. If there exists a chance that a person won't receive any gear at content completion, there better be a very high powered piece of gear waiting for a luck guardian. It's a formula that's tried and proven in other gaming media (World of Warcraft, Everquest, Diablo franchise, Neverwinter Nights, etc). But after one scales a mountain in a valley of combat only to receive a dance lesson (emotes) or a one of a kind banner (emblems) as opposed to finding a WMD of limitless power (weaponry) they'll definitely feel lead on, cheated or misinformed. I'm sure they'll also feel like they've just wasted their time. That newly obtained banners only purpose is to wrap up that persons corpse for lack of finding the GEAR they were expecting to get to help their cause.

  • 1) you still get your same rewards for raiding you just get bonus bright engrams if you have the ghost 2) players said bright engrams were endgame and had the coolest cosmetics, so Bungie connected endgame play with bright engrams. 3) players want cosmetic raid items like ships and sparrows 4) the game does not have enough different build varieties that differ significantly to warrant gear like diablo or any of the games you’ve mentioned. If you make a super weapon you make all other rewards for activities irrelevant. They need to figure out how to separate the raid rewards

  • Yet people were complaining about not having raid sparrows or raid ships. Seems to me a lot of the community does want these cosmetic items to drop from raids.

In Destiny 1 your light level eventually exceeded what the raid was designed for, which meant more noobs could do them after a few months. Now, in D2, the enemy's health and damage both scale to whatever your light level is. So, no matter what your light level is, the enemies will always be as hard as they were the first time you encountered them - however many months ago when you were just a scrub.

  • Vanilla level cap without raiding once, checking in.

  • This isn’t a raid, it’s an elongated strike.

  • Even the normal strikes seem drawn out and boring.

  • That's pretty much what the completion rate has always been for destiny raids. But perhaps with several new incentives being added, more players will try jumping back in. For me personally, I actually feel compelled to complete my raid set now. Because I can use it in the next leviathan raid lair.

  • True. Just like D1 raid gear. It looked good and it was functional. And op (mythoclast + ghorn)! Raid rewards should have stood out from the start.

  • Ghorn wasn’t raid gear and you couldn’t equip it at the same time as Vex mythoclast. Also the Vex was op for about a week then it got nerfed into the ground cos of PvP whiners.

  • Hell for me I loved the raid, but I don’t have any friends who also play so I need to pug it which is okay, but if I had friends (aylmao) I’d do it a ton more

  • I think because of the revive tokens. Lets face it, not everyone is great at raids. You die too much, raid over. You want the team to suceed but some people are unraidable. And it gets frustrating because now pretty much you have to play your part. Not like D1 where you could carry someone. 1 man Crota! Lol

  • Yep, I’m one of those that has a hard time learning the mechanics. I can watch hours of vids and then forget everything in the moment. Over time I can get it, but...

  • Keep revive tokens but take out that shared fate drop. If you revive someone you lose a token as well as the person who was revivied.
