Yes a big part of the problem is expectation management, a service fails when some one expects to get something and they do not.
The issue is not content draught to me I have plenty of things to do, I have only played 2 hours this week millstones on one character, I just can not be bothered to play anymore.
I did not expect destiny to take so much away from the game that was d1, I loved d1 the highlight for each week was raiding I did vog over 100 times, I did for what I would get from it, it's a reward system which d2 does not have, I can not be bothered to go through that with no reward no levelling up, was not expecting this it's a complete change and service has failed and I fell let down and annoyed like the rest of the community.
I don't think d2 is a bad game if it was the first time I had played destiny I would have been happy.
But I'm not happy with d2 compared to d1, d1 set the expectations high for me.
I do not like the exotics, most of them just are used to get back some of the super energy I lost. There nothing fun no ice breaker thorn gala, suros vex etc.
There so much missing and everyone said it time and time again so I'm not going to repeat.
I don't think they should have made the exotics so easy to get with grinding public encounters, I finished most of the collection too early, and I did not grind that much, there were a few times I did.
I would have liked to have seen the public encounters be more progressive, there could have been several levelling up mechanics to each encounter which brought out an ultra boss eventually with the possibility of a great reward.
Any way I think we are angry as we were just not expecting to get what we got, it is a backward step for the game.

You definitely expected too much and got let down. Re-read my post and take a deep breath. It's going to be okay. I promise. :)

You don't get my comment, I studied and worked in service marketing. Bungie has not managed expectations that's why everyone is annoyed with the product. It's not a terrible game, the community is just let down as they were expecting to get something and the did not get it. It's been really bad from a marketing perspective. They really have dropped the ball massively.

Oh ok. I guess I don't care about marketing or business much. But in this case I don't see how they could Have managed the massive amounts of expectation. I understand what you are saying. But I feel like my original post answers your grievances, at least at a general level. They could change how some things work. Sure. But I don't think the "amount" of content is a problem.

I'm agreeing with you, I also don't think there a problem with amount of content, there is so much still to do, I don't think any one is complaining about the size of the game. There is no way I would want d2 to be size of d1 at the end after all the expansions. there would be too much and you would be overwhelmed. But I did expect them to keep the mechanisms that made the content enjoyable and worth running again and again, I was more than happy to run vog for a vex and an ice breaker, yes it was a bit frustration not to get it but I enjoyed the chance to get something more than knowing I won't get anything. No Decent exotics, decent rewards for raids, ornaments, artefacts, levelling up ranks with factions, randomised roles, strike playability, exotic story quest days, suppers and nades more frequently, Titan scating, invisibility perks, customised skill, the choice to wear any armour and not be forced to look a certain way for mobility or reliance. These were good aspects and they should have been added to rather than taken away from the game. They say a good architect knows there job is done not when there nothing left to add but when there is nothing left to take away. Far too much was taken away this brings a whole new meaning to killed by the architect. We were expecting these things to be kept in people like them no one thought they would be taken away, we knew that we would be losing our secondary that was about it. This game is so dear to hears of so many people, if your going to make fundamental changes you need to get people involved bought into the changes let them have a satin advance. There was no change management done at all, such little exposure to the change in the beta. If you told a work force I'm taking away something you like did not speak to them about it did not tell them why there would be uproar Bungee have created a problem with the community they serve and this will be the biggest problem for them if they do not address it soon. Everything I read is just negative apart from a few people trying to give ideals to make it better. I hope they pull it back as I want to be hear for the 10 promised years.

So we agree. You are just saying that they should have been transparent about the changes to game compared to Destiny 1. So that unrealistic expectations wouldn't have been as much of a problem.
