I did a crucible match with a couple other people with hard lights in a tight corridor type match. It excelled there because with multiple rounds from multiple guns ricocheting off walls it can control a corridor pretty well. This forces enemy players to use a different route where you could swap to a different weapon and finish them off, hard scoping when you know where they're coming from while other players keep the pressure up on the first hallway.
I'm not a good PvP player by any means, but I've found that being creative with overlooked guns helps me improve more than simply following the meta.
