"I saw a star explode and send out the building blocks of the universe, other stars, other planets, and eventually other life, a supernova, creation itself. I was there. I wanted to see it, and be part of the moment. And you know how I perceived one of the most glorious events in the universe? With these ridiculous gelatinous orbs in my skull. With eyes designed to perceive only a tiny fraction of the EM spectrum, with ears designed only to hear vibrations in the air.
...
I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can’t even express these things properly, because I have to — I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language, but I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws, and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me.
I’m a machine, and I can know much more, I could experience so much more..."

Damn, that's a good argument. What's the source of this, where's it from?

Oh and here's another tidbit; since you're interested: "You gave a speech, it sounded like it wasn't the one you prepared. You said that humanity was a flawed creation, and that people still kill one another for petty jealousy and greed. You said that humanity never asked itself why it deserved to survive. Maybe you don't."

Edited by Der_Peevmeister: 8/5/2017 11:24:09 PMThe rebooted Battlestar Galactica series believe it or not; one of the better TV shows every made, I think. I'd HIGHLY recommend it. Don't google that quote though if you're interested in watching the series. 'Major spoilers' doesn't come close to describing what would be revealed, heh

I won't google the quote but I'll have to check out that series. If it's as good as that quote then I'm sure I'll like it.

Edited by Der_Peevmeister: 8/6/2017 1:22:39 AMHeh, the show's really good, it starts off slow and stays that way: It was story-driven from the get-go; more emphasis on storytelling, character development, subplots etc... Fun part? In between all that boring 'plot stuff,' there's a ton of action that adds more to the plot. Enjoy!
