Oh, hello. *closes book* I didn't see you there. You may know me as The First Aifos, and I am here from my library- Okay hold up, who wrote this script? Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from my favorite Plane of Kaladesh, with my soon-to-be-former script writer Harumph! By the way, Harumph, you're fired. Harumph: "CRACK! That is the sound of my heart breaking." Well geeze, now I just kind of feel bad. But, not bad enough to rehire you, security, please remove Harumph from the premises. Papika: "Okay! Don't worry, Harumph, we can go buy ice cream! Aifos, can I borrow some money?" Seriously, why do I pay you..? Fine, just bring me back a vanilla. Anyhow, exposition aside, I've been getting back into Magic: The Gathering lately. While the digital version's fun (get Magic Duels! It's free!) nothing can beat a good ol' fashioned card game! Below, I'll explain what each color's strength is, and further below that I'll explain my answer! Red:
Red magic is about doing damage indirectly. Creature abilities, fire, sorceries, fire, instants, fire, and of course MORE FIRE! Why bother tearing down an opponent's defenses, when you can BURN THEM ALIVE before they have one.
Blue:
Counter enemy cards, make them lose their deck before yours, draw more cards, and draw the ones you want. Blue magic is about the mind, and setting up plots much more elaborate than they should be, and making your opponent lose with full HP by running out of cards. Fun!
Green
Heal yourself, heal your monsters, make your healed monsters really big, and smash everything! With your land cards! Green magic has really big creatures, that are great at smashing things! It also has a lot of healing, and destroying enchantments, but smashing things! Survival rule 781: There are always more Scut Bugs.
White:
Strike first, and knock down their defenses before their defenses are even up! Heal yourself, rally your army! Apart you are weak, together..! You're still pretty weak. Mainly about buffing up weaklings, healing, anf striking before your opponent can defend.
Black:
Dead is just another term for servant. Kill everything, bring it back, kill everything some more, bring it back, then kill everything! Better top it off with some more killing, too! Zombies! And.. Demons, too, but mostly zombies! And I guess vampires.. Zombies!
Null:
More of a subtype. Uses other mana, and usually supports other colored decks.
Tl;dr? Here's my point! Favorite MTG color? My answer:
I like Red/Black decks the best. I would say Null, by my Null decks are usually (technically) Red/Black. Between the two, Black is more fun, but I'm better with Red.
• Somewhat offtopic here, but I don't want to make another thread for this. Does anyone know a good place to get specific groups of cards? I want to make a mostly Green "Eldrazi Corruption" deck. The idea is use the "Green" Eldrazi from Battle for Zendikar to spawn more Eldrazi Scions than you can count, then use that mana, combined with normal mana, to transform the Green werewolves from Eldritch Moon into Eldrazi abominations. Problem is, I missed I missed Eldritch Moon entirely, and don't actually have very many "Green" Eldrazi. As a secondary color, I'd probably either go Red, White or Blue. White, if I can get my hands on the Voice of Nightmares, because that thing is awesome. Blue, or Red mainly because I already have plenty of "Blue" & "Red" Eldrazi. Hm.. Probably Red due to simple transformations, and use of the Hanweir cards (if I can get those). Ah, anyway, the groups I'm looking for are the "Green" Eldrazi from BoZ, the "corrupted" werewolves (both Green & Red) from Eldritch Moon, as well as the colorless Eldrazi from EM. Cryptolith Fragment as well.. I'm willing to buy online, but I'm bad at finding this kind of stuff. Thanks in advance, fellow Magic fans! Alternatively, a bunch of Battle for Zendikar & Eldritch Moon packs would work, too..

    • My fav deck is black/red vampires, using madness. Full of black creatures and red burn spells. Been working on mono-green enchantment/big creature deck. Using enchantment creatures and constellation(from journey into nyx)

      • My favorite decks I ever put together where black/white life and death deck. And my Green/white token creature/hydra deck. But I only played from M14 to Shadows over Innistrad. I had to stop spending so much on them lol.

            • Such a long time since I played actively. My favorite colors were black for the creature cards (demon, zombie, etc.) and the Red for its burn capabilities. Best artifact was the Grindstone, brokenly op but still a good card.

That's hard to say. In my younger years of playing, I've ran some very cruel combos. One of my favorite was a 45 card Yawgmoth's Will and Yawgmoth's bargain deck. I'd win the 3rd turn almost every time. This was black based. I'd also run direct damage red with Ball of Lightning, lightning bolts, fireballs and other nasty spells. I also ran a deck that gave me an infinite turn and allowed me to force the opposing player to draw out their entire deck. I've also done reanimator combos as well. My favorite would have to be a blue control though. I could use bounces and counter spells. A very annoying thing to face.

In my heart I'm a filthy Blue mage. I grew up on combo and control. Ancestral Recall, Time Walk. Naturally, most color combos I play are some combo of U/W, U/B, U/R, U/W/B (esper colors are my favorite). There's a pretty mean W/R prison deck I have too. The goal there is to not let the opponent play the game. Tabernacle at Pendrel Vale, fastmana (ancient tomb and city of traitors) wasteland, strip mine, crucible of worlds to get those back. Trinisphere and chalice of the void. This deck needs some Ajani Vengeant. TL/DR Imma control mage. Edit Also Smokestack.deck

                  • I love this pole. The hardest to play color and arguably underpowered is the most picked. I would put money down that if we had a pole of which color you we're best at (and you had to answer honestly) it would look something like: Red: 18% Blue: 5% Green: 40% White: 15% Black: 5% Null: 17%
