Which Estus system do you prefer?

Kindling (DaSI)

54

Shards (DaSII/DaSIII)

194

Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from Lordran with- . . . The Emerald Herald? EH: "Hello, Chosen Undead." . . . Anyhow, anybody who's played Dark Souls I knows the Estus Flask system changed from 1 to 2. The question is simple; which do you prefer? Explanations: The kindling system:
In Dark Souls I each Bonfire had a "Humanity Level", that ranged from 1-4. Each Bonfire was at 1 by default (some were at 2), and could be increased by offering Humanity while human. Each Bonfire only recharged you Flask to a certain amount, depending on that particular Bonfire's level. 1=5 2=10 3=15 4=20
The shard system:
In 2 & 3, you start with a set amount of Estus Flasks, and increase them by finding Estus Shards. All bonfires restore all Flasks:
My answer:
I prefer Kindling. Don't know why.
• Collecting the shards was more tedious than killing Pinwheel then getting 20 free heals every bonfire, that's for sure. On a somewhat related topic, what the hell was with the "cast time" I guess you could call it, that they added to the flask in 2? That thing took forever to be used and often when I bothered trying it got negated or got me killed instantly. Using it in 1 and 3 was far more intuitive and far, FAR more useful because of how fast your use time and health was healed. I guess being able to move around a little in 3 is neat, but ultimately doesn't factor in much very often.
