Unfortunately, in order to play Rise Of Iron you need to own Destiny The Taken King. If you don't own this or the collection you don't have access to the expansion.

I bought Destiny The Taken King for 20$, and the game still said I was in "Trial Mode" so I bought the Rise of Iron expansion and I am still in trial mode. I either need to get a refund at this point and just buy the collection edition or I need to somehow get the game to recognize that I do own the full game
-
I would try to reach PlayStation either through their support forum or on twitter. If you have tried both your cache and re-installing I'm not sure if this is the place to solve this problem.
-
I own it on the Xbox One, and have just discussed my problem with their support team. I'm waiting on my game to finish installing again which at my internet speed takes a long time. Maybe it will work this time but at this point I doubt it, I just wish there was a way to contact Bungie specifically for support
-
I see you said you bought The Taken King and Rise of Iron did you buy the disc version, also when did you buy each of them and where.
-
I bought both of them yesterday via the Xbox store, digital version

Edited by Gamer jx: 2/27/2017 8:12:08 PMDid you ever buy the base digital copy of Destiny? The Taken King and Rise of Iron for sale on the Xbox store are only DLC for the Destiny base game, you can buy a disc copy or digital copy of Destiny and the game will work with the two DLC's you bought.
-
When I looked in the Xbox store the vanilla version of the game was unavailable for purchase outside of a bundle. So I bought the Taken King which included original Destiny base game
-
So it appears that I was misunderstood and that the only way to be able to get the base version of Destiny is through buying the Collection Edition, is this really the only way to play the game?
-
You can buy a new or pre-owned copy of Destiny on Disc and that will work with the DLC's you bought.

I have the same problem. Have cleared the cache twice with hard reboot and downloaded things 4 times. I am still stuck in trial mode. I have paid for the disc first and each of the dlcs separately and that amounts to about approximately 180 dollars so far and I am locked out of everything. Can't play the game except for the rise of iron. Bungie just tells me to buy another collection edition . No help what's so ever. Very poor service considering I am a veteran of this game. How do I delete the trial mode. ??????? Gramma

What system did you buy the disc for and the DLC for and what system are you playing on now? (PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 or Xbox One)

xbox one and I bought everything???? Gramma

did all of the reinstalling with the app and games. Disc is in perfect shape and not dirty. I baby everything I buy. I bought the disc so that I wouldn't have these download problems and have to trust microsoft for getting my purchase correct. question--- have reinstalled the games 7 times now at 12 hours a pop. Microsoft was no help either . Can't they just send me a digital file that is in working order for all the base game and the entire dlcs because that is what I bought. Right now I CAN play the rise of iron , daily, siva strikes, but can't access Mars, Venus, dreadnaught, the reef, only the tower. The rest of the game is blocked by the Trial Mode. I own everything on Destiny . Want to be able to play the Age Of Triumph . It will probably be blocked because it says in the store the I don't own the taken King. Very confusing and needs to be fixed. I need a bungie person to talk to , to fix this stupidity.
-
Could you please check your abandoned quest kiosk in the tower and take out all of the quests in it. You might have missed the missions to unlock the other planets or your disc has unseen damage, you should try to borrow a disc from a friend or pick up a used disc and see if that helps. Unfortunately blu-ray discs can go bad without any noticeable damage.
-
removing abandoned quests. Have been playing Destiny for a couple of years now and no problems going anywhere. i just launched the game without the disc and it and now the daily is blocked. It works the same with or without the disc. Lets see, I paid around 59 dollars for the disc, 40 dollars for the house of wolves, 40 dollars for the rise of iron ( which works) 40 dollars for the Taken King. I want my money back or maybe Bungie could do something about this crap.
-
For any refunds you will need to talk to the store you purchased the game and DLC from. You may need to talk to Xbox Support you may have a disc drive issue if it's still not working after trying a second disc and doing a full reinstall. Unfortunately discs can stop working because they are sensitive to conditions and the data files on them may not able to be read by the disc drive for many reasons.
-
Gamer Jx, im having similar issues. Ive cleared the cache, tried multiple disc, I have my licenses, and I've done literally everything any other forum topic has suggested. I'm at the end of my rope here, I've posted like 3 threads to this issue and get nothing helpful. Can you help?
-
Has your online PlayStation Plus or Xbox Gold membership expired?
-
No, and im on with XBL support to double double check licenses
-
It sounds like your system is having an disc read issue, you will need to work with Xbox support to solve the issue.
-
For 2 seperate disc, one new?
-
The issue would be with the disc drive not the disc, it may be having issues with reading game discs, not all discs are the same.
-
So every other disc loads fine, but 2 seperate disc for one game dont? I see your point, but im gonna go with a nonhardware issue
-
Hardware can have issues reading certain discs only. You will need to continue to work with Xbox support, to figure out why it can't read the disc.
